I've been recently receiving praise for my stories from a new reader, usually posting as Anonymous but signing his messages as Retired Army NCO. I'm tempted to respond with thanks, he's sending more than a few messages and going through my stories, which is much appreciated, but I'm hesitant. There was that issue last year with the . . . "character" and my Alice Amoeba stories that has since made me cautious about responding. It's just this guy likes my stories a lot and I'd like to thank him for reading but still . . .

I wouldn't respond to him directly.

What you could do on your next story is out in a note saying you'd like to thank all the readers who take the time to comment and support your work. Its generic, but its a shout out to him and your other fans.

I don't see a problem with responding in a comment. If you don't like how it goes, you just delete the relevant comments. "Hey, thanks" doesn't take long and lets you look like an ok sort.

Email is different. If I get even a hint of weird in a from-Lit email, I don't respond. If a conversation turns weird or I get a hint of under-18, I block.

There are definitely creepy people out there and I've had three contacts via literotica that I'd rather not have had. It does pay to mind your step.

Can I steal your Sig?

Hey! That sig is mine :) (well actually it's Colonel Guano's by way of Stanley Kubrick). You're unique, a unique person; find a unique sig that kicks ass. Oh! And watch Dr. Strangelove, terrific movie. Great for sigs :)

I of course recognized it right away and I'm still laughing.
