I suspect it was the NonCon/Reluct at home that sent them (possibly enthusiatically) to the doc for treatment. By the way, Sears and other catalogue companies offered femine relief products that looked very much like vibrators for many years. When I was in Winnipeg in the 70s, the Eaton's Catalogue still featured a standard and a deluxe model.
