The paradise Island (open, players need)

''Thank you, Jay. You did a nice job.'' Aiya blushed again from mild embarrassment.

Jay's nudity was common but when he was this close to her, it was stirring emotions that Aiya wasn't ready to face quite yet. Aiya quickly took a step back and looked to her feet. '' I should see about making another net...''

I step back. "You're welcome." I can feel the hesitancy in you and notice your discomfort. I try to quiet the emotions that I feel roiling in me. The attraction I feel, and the dismay that you do not seem to share it, and a guilt over the fact that I shouldn't feel that way since you are still grieving. I try to finish my own tusk necklace fairly quickly. The business of survival never seems to stop and we have work to complete if we are going to move to a new shelter.

Aiya takes a few deep breathes then remembers the tidal pools. What she should mention is vital but yet the condition might make another sick and she didn't want to make Steph uncomfortable.

Picking up the net she was working on last and seeing where Jay had made a section make it ideal for fishing. However it also works as a bag to carry fruits and nuts to the cave.

''We might need to save the bones from the boar to help make our ladder til we find something stronger.'' Aiya suggested as talk of moving camp is still on the group's mind.

I finish up my own necklace and hang it around my neck. I sit back for a few moments letting the food settle and gazing up through the trees. "Come on Aiya, let me show you where we are thinking of setting up the new Camp." I stand and grab my spear ready to head up stream

Aiya rose and.walked with Jay out of camp. When they were out of earshot Aiya turns to Jay and takes a breathe. "Jay, I didn't mention this earlier cause it slipped my mind and then talking with Steph.. when I was scrounging down at the beach. There was a body in one of the tidal pools. I drained the pool and covered the body with sand.... it isn't a pretty sight... and it cause .. well it can make you heave."

Aiya felt guilty for forgetting about it totally. " I couldn't recognize who it was. Could possibly be a member of the crew from the ship."

She stood quietly waiting for Jay to say something.

I use Jay's knife to punch four holes in the suitcase. With the belt from inside and adding my own I fashion it so I can use it backpack style. Two polo shirts wrapped around the belts pads them nicely. For now a braided grass belt will suffice till I can reclaim mine.

Still half a pig to cook. Need more firewood. I roll up my grass mat.

"Steph, we need a good bit more wood. Can you give me a hand?" I ask.

"And in case you are wondering. The mat works well to roll around a load of firewood." I add.

A grab a couple of mangoes for the walkabout.

"Sure."
I follow Rom, feeling better by this point. We're a cohesive team, with a survival plan.

I nod at Aiya, "I will take care of it. You can wait here if you prefer." Taking a deep breath I head back down to the beach.
I find where Aiya had covered the body with a layer of sand, but still the crabs and gulls had gotten to it I tried to close my mind to the visuals as I began digging what would have to be a shallow grave up above the tide line. Digging a good sized hole in sand was not easy and I kept having to widen it further than I originally thought to get any depth. Turning back to the body I fought down nausea as I dragged and rolled whoever it was to the hole and the rolled to the bottom. I stopped to catch my breath and then began scooping sand over the body. After finally covering the makeshift grave I marked it with a piece of driftwood and said a short prayer of the grave. Then I waded out into the ocean to wash up. FInally I head back inland and pass the camp, Steph and ROm must have headed out on their own errand.

"It's done Aiya, I buried .. him I think." I shudder.." I hope to never have to go through that again." I reach out my hand.."Come on, .... I want to show you where we are looking to move too."

"Thank you, Jay." Aiya expressed relief as she didn't want to see it again and be reminded of her own loss.

While she was on her own she found broken stalks and they have s sweet aroma. Aiya picked up a broken piece the size of a empty roll of paper towels. Aiya sniffs again then cautiously tastes, it was sugar cane. "I wish I had one of those shirts."

Luckily she found a large palm leaf and filled it with pieces, wrapping the sugar like a burrito in the leaf and began looking for more foods.

Aiya was glad when Jay returned and went with him to the new home site. "Wow this is like land of the lost kinda stuff."

I nod, "I just hope there aren't any dinosaurs. If we have to tackle that I want some heavy duty firepower." We head up the stream and I push past the elephant plant again opening the view to the carved out hollow and pool, the back side rears up the basaltic cliff to where the waterfall starts. The cave is off to the side, and the water comes down a crevice out of the mountain. The pool while not very deep is wide and cool and adds to the feel of a moat. I wade through the pool and stand under the waterfall then beckon you to show the hollowed out space behind. Not quite a cave, but it provides a shelf of rock just above water level kept damp by spray but otherwise shielded and hidden. "We need a reliable way up the cliff." But after that its going to be home. What do you think?"

Aiya looks around and nods. "We could make a vine web like they use on playgrounds."

She walked along a crag and found some notches that would work as anchors. "Yes this will work and it will be better then the bone ladder I imagined."

Aiya tested the wall and managed to get a few feet up but there wasn't enough of a ledge to go higher. Aiya carefully came down and grinned. "We can increase the pen size and make a fish trap. I saw a tree we could use and make tubs for food. Could make one and use the current from the waterfall for power. All we need now is a kettle, a smokehouse, and an outhouse."

Rom was right she was going to work their asses off.

I smiled watching as you dove into the problems of how to make everything work. "You are going to work us to the bone! I, for one, will not bow to the tyranny!" I say laughing and scoop of some water and splash you with it playfully.

Firewood is getting picked over near camp. I lead Steph out on to the beach. Cutting into a mango I give Steph half.

"There is a good pile of driftwood near where you found that suitcase. We can load up enough from there I think." I say.

Steph looks better but still quiet.

"Hey, I know this situation isn't normal but... Are we good? You and me?" I ask.

I finish the mango, messily, and carelessly discard the peel, tossing it onto the warm sand.
I don't make eye contact because I'm embarassed. It's been a strange few days, but I'm ready to be strong now.
"We're fine. Lets do this. " I stride off towards the pile of wood.

I swim away through the pool enjoying the water on my skin and realizing i probably need to give myself a good washing

Aiya splashed Jay in return but stayed where she was in 5 feet of water. She undid her braids letting her hair flow freely, the difference in weight make her feel relieved. Lying back, she was floating on the water making herself feel lighter than air.

I swim over and stand under the pounding water of the waterfall letting the force of the water wash away the accumulated dirt and sweat. I swim back over toward Aiya watching her relax in the water, her hair floating around her head like a halo, clothes clinging wetly to her body. I roll to my back and float next to you. "I love to swim." "Have you thought about what you are going to do when.. or if we get back?"

The lack of eye contact makes me things are not fine. I've done something wrong, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Technically gathering firewood is way more important right now but I am disappointed.

I roll out the mat.

"Wrap smaller logs in this. Makes it a bit easier to carry." I tell Steph.

By wedging long sections in the vee of a twinned palm I can snap four inch logs down to about six foot long. Last day here hopefully but lots of pig to cook. I cut some vine and lash five logs together.

Cutting the other mango in half I pass one to Steph.

Making small talk I say, "I swear having to gather wood is my curse. When I'm not travelling for work. I spend most of my time at my cabin on the Albany River. Ontario not New York! I swear firewood is fifty percent of the work. It's actually easier to do in winter, I think."

As I float next to Aiya I look over at her watching the sunlight filter through the trees and over us. THe interplay of light and shadow seems to compliment the clinging wetness of her dress to highlight her curves even more. I feel a surge of desire again as I look over her body. My own body reacts, but I do my best not to draw attention to it and float quietly lost in my own thoughts.

Aiya pauses then replies. " Probably go back to the farm and.be the dutiful daughter."

It was a sad thought and she could just imagine her father's disappointment. The virgin bride, still virgin because she didn't have sense enough to consumate after the wedding ceremony.

"What about you?" Aiya asks as she dunked her feet.

"I don't know for sure either. There are always tech jobs. But I am realizing that I can do so much more". Sighing I continue "I know that if we go back that I have to do more than live for work like I did. Part of me is happy here" . I glance over to see you stand watching me and I realize you can see my aroused state.. Blushing I drop to standing as well... My erection disappearing under water... "I'm sorry... Just.." words fail me as I blush... "you are beautiful and..."

Aiya blushed but only turned slightly. ''It's okay... I know iits nvoluntary. I know you can't help it."

Still Jay did tell her she was beautiful and when a guy blushes you know they are telling the truth.

" We should probably get back to camp. I wouldn't want Rom or Steph to worry about us. Plus there's a lot to do if we are planning to move into that cave.."

i nod and head toward shore. As we emerge from the water I have subsided mostly. It wasn't all the way down, but was no longer erect, but still slightly engorged. I resolved to ignore it for now as we went back toward the camp.
When we get back we can begin breaking down camp.

Aiya pointed out the wild foods that were safe to eat that she discover earlier. She also showed him the sugar cane she discovered while he went to the beach.

''It might be possible we could find wild cocoa beans.'' Aiya mused '' and make our own coffee.''

something caffeinated would be a luxury
I smiled at the sugar cane. "Delicious.
