(This thread is staged approximately five years after the beginning of Ava's and Devon's journey in Slave Training.)

Ava leaned against the railing of second floor balcony as her mind wandered, half hidden by a line of tropical foliage that waved ever so slightly in the breeze. The row of townhomes themselves were far from special, but when combined with the sound of the crashing waves and the soft sigh of the waving foliage waving in the breeze it was hard to ignore the allure of it all. In normal situations the sight of her lingering on her balcony clad in only a short cotton slip would be frowned upon, but here at the resort her exposure would not even bat an eye.

The sound of a car in the distance brought her mind back to the present, and she was genuinely surprised at how long she had been lost in thought. Was Devon back already, and what were they getting themselves into now?

It had been two years since the two of them first arrived here at the resort. When she had been approached by friend with the idea of creating a resort that catered to the sexual desires of the guests, she had been intrigued. When he further inquired if she would be willing to come on as a fulltime member of staff, she was flattered but underwhelmed. After years of working for herself and only taking clients and cases that appealed to her it seemed like a position that would be more stressful than she cared to deal with. When she eventually agreed to consult and assist with the initial staffing and training Brandon was ecstatic. Staffing was easier than she had ever expected. In the end, their staff became incredibly well-rounded with many salaried employees filling simple job openings, in guest services, and food service to self identified submissives wishing to fulfill their own desires and a mix of slaves purchased by the corporation for their skills or beauty to fill the rest. In the end Ava agreed to oversee the small group of 5 trainers who assisted new staff and trained incoming arrivals. Perhaps Brandon always knew that she would never leave, as her accommodations were ever so slightly larger than the rest..

The resort itself was impeccably designed, and while the large part of the hotel flanked the beach they also offered a variety of other lodgings that spread out along the beach and deep into the jungle. Their small tropical island could provide almost any vacation experience you could want and so much more. The island itself sat alongside a small chain of islands, leaving the only way in and out by boat, or occasionally by plane. The remote location offered extra appeal as you were cut off from any normal communications, as well as an incredible sense of privacy and freedom from the oversight of any governmental agencies.

For most, it was true paradise...

When the employee shuttle boat pulled up to the employee dock, Devon was standing at the end of it waiting. He stood an even six feet tall, and his swimmer's body was easily visible with the white khaki shorts and polo shirt that he wore. He didn't wear the uniform of the rest of the staff, because he wasn't truly a member of the staff. What he did wear though, was a stainless steel byzantine chain necklace. This alone wouldn't look unusual, if not for the small metal cat bell that dangled from the frontmost links, resting comfortably against his breastbone. The wind was playing with his short black hair, and as the passengers disembarked, his dark blue eyes scanned over each of them. The first four were naturally people he'd seen before and expected. He smiled at each of the employees coming back from their leave from the resort, but when he saw the last person come to the edge of the ramp he stepped forward towards her.

"Good afternoon." Devon said simply as he approached the woman. "Callie I presume?" As Devon asked his question, he extended his hands towards her. "My name is Devon, and if you'll kindly come this way, I would be happy to escort you to the staff quarters."

With the small bit of formality out of the way, Devon led the way down the dock towards the short path that would lead them towards the staffing quarters. "Did you have any questions that I might be able to answer before we get there?"

"Don't worry so much mum! I'm gonna make bank! I swear!" Callie wrapped her arms around her mother as she prepared to leave for an undetermined amount of time.

"It's my job to worry about you. Like full time, forever!" Her mother smiled warmly as she embraced Callie in return.

It wasn't Callie's first trip away but this time it was for work purposes and Callie wasn't sure when she'd be able to come back and visit her mother but she'd reservedly told her it'd be at least 6 months to a year. She wanted to do her best at this job and show she was committed to the role. Callie was 22 and had recently decided that remote jobs and travel were where it was at. She wanted to explore as much as possible while she was still young enough to enjoy it.

As she let go of her mother and grabbed her suitcase to wheel it onto the platform adjoining the boat, she turned to wave goodbye one last time and trundled aboard. Her honey blonde hair bounced in the sunshine and Callie had to contain all of the nervous excitement that made her want to squeal. It still didn't feel real!

"I'll text you as soon as I arrive! I promise!" She yelled to her mother from the boat as she stood against the railing, echoing the promise she'd already made to the older woman.

"You bloody well better!" Her mother called back, waving frantically as the boat pulled away from the dock.

"Cause if I don't, you'll probably send the federal police to find me." Callie said in a dry tone that her mother would never hear, still smiling and waving as her mother disappeared from view.

The ride itself would take most of the day and take them in and out of reception so Callie had downloaded some music and brought a book with her to ensure she remained occupied for the trip. The included lunch wasn't awful either for just sandwiches. She did end up having to tie her mid-length hair back as the windshear was too much and it felt like she was being whipped in the neck if she stood outside for too long. The beautiful day and the cool breeze made it difficult to just sit inside though and she got through far less of her book than she thought she would.

"Probably for the best, I might get bored later or something and regret reading it." She said softly as she put '20,000 Leagues Under The Sea' in her tote bag after the Captain announced they had arrived.

She was probably the last to disembark, she had a smaller frame and was less inclined to push her way to the front. Not to mention the fact that she was uncertain of where she was going and was taking her time exploring the island with her eyes as they docked.

As it turned out, she didn't have much to worry about, Devon approached her as she left the boat and she shook his hand, "Yeah, Callie. Hi. That'd be great, thanks so much."

She smiled nervously as she walked alongside him, her suitcase had been taken and they'd told her it'd be waiting for her at her room upon arrival which impressed her. The only time any airline ever delivered her luggage to her was when they'd lost it and she generally had to wait weeks to get it back.

She took the time to appraise the young man walking alongside her who looked to be around her own age. He seemed fit and possibly even athletic judging by his build. Callie was slim but that was thanks to wonderful genetics coupled with a fast metabolism more than diet or exercise. Her eyes travelled to the silver necklace dangling from his throat, it wasn't unusual for a man to wear a silver chain around his neck but the pendant was an interesting choice. She could hear it tinkling softly too and wondered why he'd wear it. Wouldn't it be annoying? Callie could have sworn it was...well, a cat bell. It sounded exactly like the one her Calico back home wore to warn birds.

Of course, then he asked her if she had any questions and she had to blink back from explorer and go straight into 'work mode'. She cleared her throat and looked away from him towards the path ahead.

"Uh, oh god, I'm not sure really. I'm a little overwhelmed just taking everything in now. I guess I'm dying to know about living and working in the same place and hoping for my own bathroom." She joked and giggled just a little, "And then maybe about my duties but I learn better as I go along too, I pick things up that way. Learning where everything is will be pretty important I imagine, the place is so much bigger than the photos suggest online! It's really beautiful here."

'Aaaaand now you're rambling. Take a breath, idiot.' She chided herself internally and stopped her spiel to allow Devon space to talk.

Devon had his head turned towards Callie as the pair walked, the cat bell around his neck bouncing happily against his breastbone with every step he took. He'd made this trip so many times, that his feet knew it by heart. Hell, he almost wondered if he could do it blindfolded, but that was a question for another day. For now, he was more than happy to look at and listen to Callie as she spoke and yes, rambled a bit. The smile that had come to his face when he'd greeted her widened the more she rambled, but it wasn't a fake one. He actually liked it when people talked like this during this particular walk. It was a natural reaction to such a beautiful location and unique opportunity.

"Heh, yeah. It's natural to be a bit overwhelmed at first. This place has that effect on people. Sometimes it's the size, sometimes it's the beauty, and sometimes it's just their first time being on an island, surrounded by water, with no land in sight in any direction."

As Devon finished speaking, he and Callie were stepping up to the large rectangular building that was the staff quarters. He broke the joint stride that the two of them had, stepping ahead of her so that he could hold the door open for her.

"This is the staff quarters." Devon started as the pair of them walked through the first door. He then pulled a keycard out of his pocket and held it up to a scanner to let them in the second door, which he also held open for her. This led to a large hallway branching left and right with a door across from them as well.

"That door..." Devon gestured to the door directly across from them. "...leads to the staff pool area. We are of course allowed to swim in guest areas when we are on break, but if you ever end up wanting a quieter swim, I would recommend this pool." He then gestured towards to his left. "That hallway leads to a variety of other staff amenities, including a kitchen, lounge area, gym, hot tub, sauna, and a door to the outside that takes you to a small section of beach that only the staff have access to. There are of course multiple outside areas to swim on the island, but it's the quietest of them, and the best place to sunbathe without having to worry about who might be watching you."

With only one option remaining, Devon started to walk down the hallway to the right. "That of course leaves this hallway, which naturally leads to the staff sleeping quarters" As Devon walked, he made sure that his bell bounced off of his breastbone with every step, sounding off each time. The pair passed door after door, most of which were open, and more than one of which had a person changing clothes without any concern for Devon's presence passing by, even though he knew for a fact that they had heard his bell sounding off as he approached.

"And this..." Devon started once more as the pair reached the end of the hallway, and the last door in the long line of them, "...is your room." He produced another keycard from his pocket and held it up to the scanner until it beeped and a green light flashed. He turned the handle on the door and gave it a push before stepping back to let Callie enter first. "After you."

Callie smiled kindly at Devon as he held the door open for her and she stepped inside, waiting for him to take the lead again. She noted the card scanner and gripped one of her fingers over the other - she already knew that'd be something she was inclined to forget and she'd have to attach it to something if she was given one so she wouldn't be running back to her room for it repeatedly. Or worse, having to ask someone else to let her through a door or into her own damn room.

She mostly nodded as he explained where everything was as they walked, she appreciated the firsthand tips most of all though. He seemed to know that privacy would be important to her but then she figured that was probably important to anyone who was new here because they didn't know anyone.

It was the staff sleeping quarters that most surprised her because despite the fact that she and Devon were rather noisy as they walked the hallway, many people had their doors open and were quite literally changing in full view! Callie averted her eyes so she wouldn't be accused of staring at anyone or invading their privacy but Devon seemed unfazed which surprised Callie.

Finally, Devon announced that they'd reached Callie's room at the very end of the hallway and he opened the door for her. She smiled at him and stepped inside.

"Thank you."

It was modestly appointed with a double bed and a small couch next to a desk and chair. It almost resembled a tiny hotel room really. Her suitcase was waiting, as promised, at the foot of the bed. Callie saw there were two doors in the room, she opened the first one to find an empty closet and closed it with a nod. She moved on to the next one and found it contained a tiny bathroom complete with a toilet and basin.

"Oh, uh, where do I shower? In the gym or something?" Callie turned to ask Devon, exiting the little bathroom.

"You are more than welcome." Devon said warmly, his blue eyes all but shining. Despite his curiosity though, he stayed where he was by the door as Callie explored her room, not trying to follow her, lurk over her shoulder, or anything of the sort. His arms were by his side, and his genuine smile never wavered. He was always happy to meet another employee, and truly hoped that she would enjoy her time here, no matter how deep into the scene she wanted to delve.

Callie's first question was a natural one, and one that everyone asked. "Ah yes, the showers are next to both the gym and the pool, as it's customary to shower after either of the two. I'd be more than happy to show you right now."

After he finished speaking, Devon saw Callie take a step in his direction, and he took that as a sign that that's what she wanted. So he took the lead in walking out of her room, but stopping just outside of it. She wasn't far behind, and he made sure that she had her keycard with her and waited for her to close her door behind her before he started to walk once more. It was natural for the new employees to want to close their doors at first. Nobody was ever forced to leave it open if they didn't want to. The crew just got so comfortable with each other that some felt comfortable enough to leave it open all the time, up to and including change with it open.

As Devon and Callie were walking back up the long hallway, one of the women that had been changing with her door open walked out of her room in nothing more than a towel. He recognized her immediately from the golden blonde that hung down to her ass and almost shone in the overhead lights.

Jeannette was a little ways ahead of the pair when she exited her room, and though she hadn't looked to the right, she likely heard Devon's bell, because she paused in her stride to turn and wave. "Good afternoon, Devon!" She called out. "And who's that you've got with you?"

"Good afternoon, Jeannette! This is Callie. It's her first day and I'm showing her around.

Callie really couldn't believe how comfortable the staff were with nudity, she reasoned internally that it was some kind of culture and comfort. She supposed many of the staff had been there a long time but it was still all rather odd to her. One part of her wondered how long she'd have to be here before that became comfortable and another part couldn't fathom a long enough time to feel comfortable with it - ever.

And then she got to come face to face with one of them which also caused her to wonder if Devon partook in this level of comfortable as it didn't seem to bother him in the slightest either. She paused next to Devon and was grateful the woman was wrapped in a towel because she wasn't sure where the hell she'd respectfully avert her eyes to if she wasn't.

She waved shyly and a little awkwardly from beside Devon, "Hello."

The woman smiled warmly in return, "Nice to meet you Callie, I'm Jeanette. I hope you enjoy it here, I have personally."

"Oh yes, thank you. It's a beautiful place and Devon has been so kind and shown me quite a lot of it already. I can't wait to get to know everyone and really settle in." Callie told her enthusiastically.

"I'm sure you'll fit right in!" Jeanette beamed at her.

Devon remained patiently silent as the two women had their brief talk. Even as he did so, he couldn't help but think that Jeanette might actually be the perfect mentor for Callie, given that she was one of the few slaves slaves in the building that had been in this life longer than he had. Hell, she'd even been here when the doors first opened.

"Jeanette here, is one of our best and most experienced CES'."

Devon said while gesturing to Jeanette that she was welcome to walk with them. He then started to walk at the same slow and comfortable pace that he'd been walking at. Jeanette fell in step beside Callie, all but ignoring the fact that she was just wearing a towel while they were fully dressed.

"Callie, you are of course welcome to find me and ask me any questions that you have, but if you can't find me, or if I am unavailable for what reason, I have no doubt that Jeanette should be able to answer any questions that you have."

Jeanette simply smiled at Devon's confidence in her. "Never hesitate to come to me with any questions that you have. My door is always open."

Devon couldn't help but smile at the figurative and literal implications of Jeanette's words as the trio neared the doors to the pool. Yes, he could take them the long way around, but given the fact that Jeanette had joined them, and she was almost certainly heading to join Anton in the hot tub, there was no reason not to take the shorter through the pool. So he didn't hesitate to grab the handle of one of the two heavy doors and give it a pull. "Ladies first." He said simply with a smile at each of them as he happily held the door open for them.

The smell of chlorine hit the trio immediately, reminding Devon how thankful he was for the powerful air filtration system that kept the offensive smell quarantined to this room and this room alone. Once the trio were in the room with the Olympic-sized swimming pool, the dual hot tubs on one side, and the sauna on the other, he saw Anton waiting for Jeanette in one of the hot tubs, and when he saw Jeanette turn to look at him after also seeing Anton, her bottom lip caught between her teeth as she fought to not ask the question that he knew she wanted to ask. He couldn't help but smile at her, his blue gaze softening. "Go on then, tell Anton I said hi." He said as he lifted his left hand in a shooing motion at her. Where one might have expected her to be offended though, her face lit up with a beaming smile before she turned and speed walked as fast as she possibly could, since there was no running in the pool area, all the way to the end of the pool, to where the hot tubs were, unwrapped her towel in a swift and easy motion, revealing her to be naked underneath, threw her towel on top of Anton's on one of the nearby chairs, eased down the steps of the hot tub, climbed onto Anton's lap, and started making out with him right then and there.

Devon simply chuckled at the obvious display of both love and affection on display before motioning for them to take the other way around the pool towards the sauna. "Anyway, Callie, shall we?"

Callie walked alongside the pair, idly wondering if Jeanette was wearing a swimsuit beneath her towel but tried to ignore it as they both told her she was welcome to go to Jeanette if she had queries where Devon was unavailable.

Callie smiled at Jeanette, "Oh thank you."

The implications of her door being open hit her after and Callie had to briefly cover her mouth to maintain her decorum. The scent of the chlorine was impactful when Devon opened the door and Callie followed Jeanette in with a smile of thanks to Devon. The room was humid and Callie could see why - the hot tubs and potentially the pool itself kept the room rather warm.

Callie didn't make the connection between Jeanette and the man in the hot tub in the same way Devon did. She merely watched as Jeanette walked expediently to be with him. Callie watched her the whole way but had to bite her lip to suppress a gasp of surprise as Jeanette discarded her towel and revealed that she was indeed naked underneath. Callie respectfully averted her eyes. Devon, however, appeared to have little to no reaction over it.

He asked if they should continue on and she gave a half smile and an uncomfortable nod, following him.

"Um, Devon?" She asked tentatively, "Is umm...every staff member so comfortable being...like, naked?"

She could barely ask and even once she did, she lit up like a tomato and wished she hadn't.
