Setting those who honestly thought they could sing right. Darling if you really could sing you’d have a freakin’ contract by now.

Yes, every single person on the planet who can sing has a contract, because everyone blessed with a beautiful voice has magically been discovered or has the money/opportunity to put themselves where they'd get noticed.

I hate the show too, but your statement wasn't at all accurate.

You’re right it’s worded wrong, but you’ve got to admit that it’s true. Yes there are many in the music industry who can not sing and still have a contract ‘cause their ass looks good or whatever. However, many people swear they’re the next Whitney when really their voice should be outlawed.
Now I admit. I like to sing and I really don’t have a voice, but I realize I don’t and try not to torture those around me with it.

I'll admit to watching it. But I agree with your statement Angel.

There actually is some talent on that show, otherwise I wouldn't waste my time on it. I didn't watch last year, but from what I understand, this years people are much better. That having been said, there is still some shit left on that show.

How does a professional singer get to be on that show? Even though she's never had a recording contract before? She got paid for 5+ years to sing in Branson, of all places.

The thing about This show is is gets "talent" out in front of peoples eyes in the industry, and you don't actually have to be THE "winner" to "win".

The only good thing about "American Idol" is that it's made "24" a top-20 show.

Similarly, the only good thing about "Survivor" is that people started watching "CSI."

I've never watched the show, but I have last year's CD, and frankly I like it. As for the simplicity that if you're good, you have a contract...welcome to the real world.

I love American Idol. For a reality show, at least the people have to have some sort of skill to be on it.

I love it too! I am so so so pissed that Charles got kicked off! Stupid asses...Julia definitely should have gone. Oh well, I still got my Reuben :D

The only good part about American Idol is that it lets the syntheticness of the current American music scene be blindingly and abudnantly clear.

The most inoffensive attracitve looking person who the test market believes can generate the most money wins. Talent only matters as long as it's in the "electronically fixable" range.

What's really interesting is that I read an essay about how American Idol parallels the election process. It was lol and scary at the same time.

I'm A Big Karaoke Chick!

This Is Bigtime Karaoke Finals!:D

LOVE It!

Could do Without Randy Jackson, But Whatever.

Popstars Is Much More In Depth, They Have Ta Write Their Own Tunage And Take Numerous Classes, Sing With An Actual Band, And Look At Erica Ehm All Day Long! LOL

No way, Randy is da man, dawwwg :)

Julia should have been gone or Kimberley Locke..don't like her.

I want to have RUUUUben as my resident teddy bear, just for snuggles!

I'm partial to Clay, though. He would make a kick ass brother :)

Paula needs to be a lot more honest than she is.

But seriously, you had to wonder, at the auditions, if some of these kids have no family or friends. Cuz if they did, they would never have let them think they can sing.

Sorry RNAB, but I loathe PopStars. ECCCH
