The official Authors' Hangout Summer Lovin' 2022 Contest Support Thread

Congrats to those who placed and all others who participated.

Not much of a sweep on any of mine this time.

Congratulations to Kabba118, carrteun, and Nellymcboatface on the wins and to everyone who participated on some great stories. I've read several and am looking forward to reading more of them soon.

Thanks to everyone who's read and commented on mine, too. I was pleased with how it came out, ending up as one of my higher-rated stories despite a "discouraging" title* and some minor disagreement on the merits of Galveston as a summer vacation haven (haha).

*It's a standalone story in my Home on the Range series, with the title coming from a line in the chorus of the song.

Thanks...
I never thought I'd get a second, third place, hence I've read and voted on far more stories than in previous competitions, which has made it more enjoyable than others for me. There are some great stories in the mix and I've a few more remaining to read.
Well done to everyone who entered.
Nelly

Congratulations to the winners, regards to all contributors, and thanks to the readers. I post that at the end of every contest I've entered lately, but maybe I should also post it to contests I don't enter.

Congratulations to the first and third place authors. I'm humbled to have made the Summer Lovin' winner's circle two years in a row. Thanks to all who saw fit to read my submission and take the time to rate my story. I haven't read every submission but have read about a dozen, many of which I enjoyed. There was some good stuff to be found and expect I'll find some more worthwhile reads as I work my way through the submissions.

Well done to the winners, and three different categories! Not a bad thing at all.
I've only read half a dozen stories and it constantly amazes me how much good stuff is here.
Now to get that Halloween story finished. 😁

Congrats, winners! Time to bear up and gird our loins for the short Halloween Contest turnaround!

Congrats to the winners.
I think Nelliemcboatface should get extra credit just for the name

Lovecraft68, Thanks - The name selection is a long story... Based on the survey submarine Boatymcboatface, but it came about as a result of being unable to think of anything erotically witty...

Now that I've checked on mine since the winners were announced the results were exactly what I'd imagine from a mother/son story for me.

Score was 4.79 which I feel is a bit high for the story I would have guessed 4.6-4.70.
1080 votes 40 comments 246 favs.

The main goal for entering was to get the last push needed to hop over the author in front of me on the top author list.
