A couple of people have already mentioned in the April Fool thread that they are writing entries for Nude Day, so I have started this thread VERY early.

National Nude Day (July 14)
themes: public nudity, exhibitionism, etc.
starts: June 20
closes: July 11
winners announced: July 18

This thread is to SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE authors to enter stories in the Nude Day contest.

There is an advantage to entering stories in one of Literotica's themed contests, apart from the possibility of winning, and that is that your story gets far more exposure and attention than it would normally do.

Some of that attention might be unwelcome, some abusive, but some could be appreciative and helpful. Being an author on Literotica requires the ability to ignore some unpleasant responses and the contests can bring out the trolls in force.

Get your characters naked! Give them some sexual (nude) encounters! and then wait impatiently for the contest to start - in JUNE - so you have plenty of time.

Wow, June 20th, this thread has almost three months to ramble before we even get to the good stuff:eek:

I'm all set, figure can't get much more nude than a porn star.

I wasn't sure I should have started it now, but with people already mentioning Nude Day writing in the April Fool support thread, I went for it. More time to plan and write.

I've had an idea for a few years that I haven't written. I'm going to write it this year, really, I am, I swear. :D

Thanks, Og. I always have trouble finding the dates of the future contests, so I appreciate the early launch of this thread.

Thanks for the heads up and early notice because I will need a while to think of something for this one besides the nude beach/campground thing. I might just have to sit around naked and meditate on this one.

As an old time nudist, I have more ideas than the law allows. :D

Past experience has a lot to be said for it.

I have a couple or three already started.

I've been screwing around with a "Summer Lovin'" contest story since before last summer. I'm stuck. Have been for a while.

I think it's time to scour my story ideas folder to see if there's a nude day entry there. Or just wing it.

The good news is that I just posted a non-contest story this weekend. It's not doing that well, but at least I broke out of my nearly two year dry spell. Yaaaaaay. I'm all enthused about writing now.

Congrats on breaking the drought!

Wow that is a long time in between. Terrifying to think what my little brain might cook up. Right now my characters who started out so normal have jumped the tracks into this high adventure sword and sorcery. ... This is why characters should never drive the boat.

The question is. ..pull it back or just keep charging ahead? I feel like this site is not the place for such wildness. And yet I am having so much fun I hate to stop.

Nude day in the kingdom of WallaWallaBingBang baby. (Banana icon I don't know how to insert.)

There was a time in my life when I ate, slept, read, and dreamed sword and sorcery. I still occasionally get an old one on my Kindle and enjoy it as a guilty pleasure.

Go for it.

Go for it. There are readers for almost everything, including some of mine.

What's the story you want to write?
I would say don't write for the site - don't let your characters tell you what story to write, too much - but go with what is fun to write. If it's 'right' for this site or any other after it's completed its wild ride, that's a consideration for later.
Have fun, then share it. Finding a story and characters that want to take you on a ride is something to be embraced.

I wrote exactly the story I wanted to write (I usually do). I did, though, for the contest, think, "what story could I write to this theme?" I didn't think, "what formula would put me in contention to win."

The themed contests concentrate my Muses' minds to the particular theme instead of hundreds of possible stories.

They still produce far too many plot bunnies on most themes.

Nude Day is a stretch for my "hook thinking" process--mostly because I think of nudity as tame for erotica--but somehow so far each time I've managed to come up with something I thought was fresh (for me, and considering that I don't read much of what others write).

Last year the theme I came up with was "being clothed could be more sexy than being nude," using both the images of ancient Japanese block prints where the coupling exposes very little skin during sex and laying it over a current-time story of an artist's model who can't understand that the artist he's trying to get to has seen it all in nude models and is turned on by less--but more focused--exposure. I enjoyed developing that one and it rated well.

And another year it was a guy who tried to convince his query that "nude" wasn't the same thing as "naked" right up until , wham, he got what he was after all along.

In once sense Nude Day is very easy, naked is a huge feature in erotica. So the challenge isn't making theme, but trying to be a little different. My 2012-2014 entries were fairly easy.

Last year I went with what I felt was a unique take, I went with being 'laid bare' but emotionally, when life strips you down to your very soul and leaves nothing but the basics of who you are.

Bumped from the contest winnings, but picked up the July monthly lot of people seemed to like the concept.

This year is easy as in the nude part is the MC is a milf porn star, buts its a complex story line involving guilt over what she does because her twenty year old son has no idea how she is keeping up with all the bills.

Of course, the immediate suspension of belief is how in this day and age of internet porn being everywhere and milf's being the number one search how would the kids friends not see her at some point?

But you can't cover every base all the time.

I have a couple of ideas for this one. I might even try stating it early and finishing it before the deadline!
