Ironically, that may also be a large part of reason we have 2 seemingly-assured candidates we do going into upcoming conventions. (IMO, country has learned nothing from other countries' problems as many citizens are far too busy paying attention to everything from Texas---->Charleston---->Sterling... Even when looking at things to relax us & get our minds off of these tragedies, are looking not at Olympics, but at NBA Finals & other things contained within our "United" (BS) States.

Your first paragraph appeared to agree with me, but I don't agree with this. I don't believe either wants to make the problem(s) worse, nor has made me believe they know how to make it better. Also, the country wants the problem(s) solved, but it seems that before either convention, we are down to 1 candidate per party already, neither of whom (as I already wrote in this post) has led us to believe they can get that accomplished.

I think they both think that dropping more bombs or in the case of Trump wanting to target innocent people and increase our extrajudicial interrogations or whatever the polite term for torture is these days.

I think the fact that they are the two candidates speaks fairly accurately for Americans as a whole. Especially when you factor in that Trump's not out of line with the Republican party as a whole. Maybe a bit more extreme but not really out of line. And Bernie's foreign policy is considered a weak point even with his supporters.
