Is it just me that's bothered by the fact that hundreds of man hours are being spent looking for Chaundra? There are thousands of people who go missing every year and yet because this one involves a politician and it makes great news everybody and their dog is out looking for her. Think about it... is there a task force out looking for the little girl or little boy that's printed on the back of the milk carton?

Please don't misunderstand me I'm not saying that she shouldn't be found and that nobody should be looking for her. I feel for what her family must be going through.

It just makes me wonder...

Is one human life more valuable than another because of societal position?

A case in point are the two Black girls who are also missing, and who were mentioned briefly on the back page of the A section of my paper. The Chaundra case, of course, took up a portion of the front page and most of the third. This, despite the fact that there's no real "news" in the case.
