I am not questioning the rationale as to why incest in illegal , the proven genetic issues and birth defects are proven that is not in doubt.

This is purely a question of biological desire at its most fundamental level. Incest was common practice in the not so distance past amongst even royalty not just the lower classes of society.it is illegal in many countries now for justifiable reasons however in many advanced countries there are still no laws against consensual incestual relations amongst adults...

In theory there no reason why sexual attraction cannot exist between an attractive female or male just because of DNA. This is purely a sexual fantasy discussion acting upon that in reality is a different matter.

Yes and no. It's still technically illegal in many countries. Germany upheld its ban not that long ago. But DAs don't prosecute it, so it's effectively decriminalized except when attached to some real crimes, such as rape, molestation, and kidnapping. It is often a favorite charge for prosecutors in Utah against Mormon Fundamentalist types, of course, iirc.

Personally, I favor legalization from my civil libertarian stance, but I also favor protections against abuse of parental/guardian authority, as well as encouraging incest couples who have a long history of consanguinity (a fancy word for inbreeding) already in their family lines to sterilize themselves and adopt instead. Or else use surrogates for their breeding. This would reduce if not eliminate the genetic harm from consanguinity.
