It was something that sounds like it comes out of a comic or movie, but this is the reality that we find ourselves in. It was a surge of energy that originated from outside our solar system, there had been a lot of speculations as to the origin of the wave also which type of energy it was. At first, it appeared that there was no EMF or radiation, but a year later strange things started to happen. People all over the world started to show different powers, of course, it was kept secret at first, but soon enough the number of people who showed powers became too much to be kept silent. A meeting between the governments of the world was organized and it was during these deliberations that new universal rulings were agreed upon.

1. Empowered people were encouraged to reveal to their governments that they have powers and what powers they have.
2. Vigilante people or groups would have to register
3. Registered people could be called upon to assist during times of national emergency.
4. Unregistered empowered people would be treated as a threat until proven otherwise.
5. Under no circumstances will the basic human rights of empowered people be compromised.

These were the basic rules agreed upon, and the different countries and their governments added clauses to these rules, in most countries the rules were of a relaxed nature which caused them to see an influx of people fleeing the countries with stricter rules.

As can be expected, power does not always bring out the best in all people, and in most instances, this led to an outbreak of crime as criminals gained superpowers and used these powers to complete their infractions. As the majority of powered individuals did not wish to reveal their powers, it was left to the unpowered people, the norms, to handle these groups and individuals causing chaos.

This brings us to our individuals, they are not a group yet, but in this reality, who knows what might happen.

Alger Vilho

My name is Alger, why my parents decided to name me a noble spearman only they would know, but in the end, it was almost prophetic as in a way I did become a spearman. After school, I joined the Army, went through basic training, and from there moved to the Military Police. So, to be fair, it was more like I became a spear and shield for the men and women serving our country.

One year before "The Wave" there was a bad car wreck, we came upon the scene and even though it is not something you don't normally see, one of the vehicles was on fire. Not a blazing inferno, but flames were showing in the engine compartment, my partner was busy radioing for support while I checked on the driver and passenger. I can remember calling for him to bring the fire extinguisher, then my world was engulfed in light and flame.

What saved my sight and lungs was the fact that I was turned away from the vehicle, the explosion hit mostly my back and side. I survived the burn and blunt force trauma, the body armor we wore saved my life when the explosion threw me aside like a ragdoll. I was discharged from the hospital, and placed on paid leave for the recovery and rehabilitation period. It was during this time, that "The Wave" hit, at first I thought nothing of the reports as there appeared to be no real effects apart from interesting light shows for a few evenings.

The truly interesting things started to happen around the same time that reports came out about people showing off "super" powers, my own wounds were healing at a faster rate, at first we thought that this was because of the new medication, but it soon became apparent that this was not the case. More of my old injuries started to heal up, gone was the wrist which sometimes seemed to lock up, gone was the niggling knee and even my eyesight was back to 20/20. A battery of tests followed and sure enough, no strange or exotic cells or pathogens were found, but my DNA was busy restructuring and we had no idea where it was heading.

The registration act came out and due to the fact that I was basically "property" of the government, I was placed on that list. The power attributed to me? Accelerated healing factor.

I was a therapist, or psychotherapist if you prefer. A licensed mental health professional, who specialized in helping clients develop better cognitive and emotional skills, reduce symptoms of mental illness, and cope with various life challenges to improve their lives. At least that is the textbook definition. I always thought of myself as someone “who helps others find their strengths and courage to confront and make sense of difficult emotions and experiences so they can learn and thrive in their lives”

Then The Wave hit. It changed me. I suddenly had powers, super powers. If you were to map out the world’s population based on abilities, it would be a bell-shaped curve of dots. Each dot would represent a person so there would be 8 billion dots. Now slide out to the right wing of the bell curve. Keep going as the bell flattens out. There are still a million dots out here. These people are very special and have great abilities. But you must keep going now there is only 10 thousand dots remaining. These are really, really special people, gold medal Olympic runners or noble prize winners for example. But to find me, you need to keep going. Now things are getting very spare. There are just a few hundred dots remaining. That is where you will find me. I’m the rarest of the rarest type of person. It only makes sense that people this special would be a little odd.

I had changed. I had to cope with a new life challenge. The challenge of being superpowered. My training and skills as a therapist, I needed to turn on my own ego and help myself. At first, I decided not to allow my new powers to affect me. Like a person that wins the lottery, but continues to go to work and live in the same house. That sounds good in a therapy class, but in real life it breaks down quickly.

I was treating a couple with marital troubles. The wife just finished yelling at her husband “He couldn't get his dick hard with four Viagra and a can of fix a flat!"

The husband countered with "Last time I fucked her I had to go get a tetanus shot her pussy is so rusty!"

I just could not handle it anymore. I stood up and smiled

“Thank you both for coming, same time next week?” I asked

“But there is still 10-minute left in our session?” The husband pointed out angrily.

“Session over, please leave” I insisted.

“I’M PAYING FOR A FULL SESSION AND I WANT A FULL SESSION!” He screamed as he jumped out of his chair.

“LEAVE” I yelled back. He took a swing at me, and I used my “fade” ability. His fist passed through me like I was a ghost and he struck the brick wall. I could hear his hand bone break and blood splattered over the wall as he screamed in pain.

The wife screamed too. But she was now screaming at me. “FREAK!”

I knew at that moment, I needed to find a new profession. Ignoring my superpower was not going to work.View attachment 2187428

Superhero Iris

It might seem obvious to you, but it took me a while to figure out I should be a superhero. I had always wanted to help people. That was a strong reason for my becoming a therapist. But being a superhero meant placing myself in danger to help people. That was quite different than being a therapist. However, with my ability to “fade” and become basically “untouchable” I realized I was not in as much danger as a norm.

Then the registration act passed. I filed my powers with the government as required and I was informed that I had been placed on a “call up” list. In case there was a situation my talents might be needed. I figure that would never happen.

But things changed in the world. Some people with superpowers thought they were above the law. They began to take advantage of the norms. The regular police had trouble handling superpowered villains. That was where the superheroes were asked to help. I have only been called up two times so far, but I view being a superhero as my new job.

Alger

The call came quite unexpectedly, I had just come back from a run, getting ready for a shower. It was the base commander, he gave me an address and told me to present myself to the officials there. I took the shower and got dressed into my fatigues, not attaching any rank or insignia. I drove to the address, which was a quite unremarkable building in a moderate-income neighborhood. The door opened to my knock by a man in a dark suit, which was expected, even movies get the cliches right sometimes.

After identifying myself, I got ushered inside and the door locked behind me. I got led to the living room where other people have been gathered, another man in a suit came to me, offering his hand, which I shook. "Welcome Sargeant, please have a seat."

I quickly scanned the group of people in civilian clothing and sat down in one of the open chairs.

"Now that everybody is here, we have a situation and the four of you are the only registered power users in the vicinity. A group of powered individuals has gone on a robbing spree, their targets are banks and they have wreaked havoc so far."

He clicked a remote and a projector slid from the ceiling and switched on, the blinds closed and the second man switched off the lights. A group picture of five individuals came up on the screen, I looked at the projected image and thought for a moment that this looked more like something out of a movie or comic book.

"So far the five have displayed only one power each, the strongest seems to be the female in the blue jumpsuit, she creates a barrier around them which are impervious to any type of weapon that has been used against them. The largest of the males displayed an ability to hack any electronic devices by touch, and the smaller of the males displayed an enormous amount of strength as he ripped a vault door free and tossed it aside. The white-haired female has shown a level of telekinesis, how powerful we do not know and the teenager has shown the ability to fire plasma-like bolts from her hands."

The man paused, "Are there any questions?"

I raised my hand and he nodded at me, "Sir, no offense, but I only have an accelerated healing factor, I don't see how I can be of any help in this situation."

He looked grimly at me, "You are on the list and we have to work with what we have available."

I nodded, but also knew that it basically meant that it largely depended on the rest of the group and their powers.

Mission Brief

I walked into the room wearing my one-piece black jumpsuit. The suit was great for night missions. My white blonde hair however was not. For missions that required stealth, I would also wear a black ski hat. But for this meeting it was not necessary. I noticed another super I had worked with before, Mage. I walked over and sat down next to her.

“Mage” I said in a neutral tone.

“Hey, Iris” She replied, a small smile on her lips as we fist bumped.

“I thought you didn’t like working for The Man” I asked her

“I don’t. These government people are godless sinners” Mage shot back. Clearly unhappy about being called up.

“Just remember, God works in mysterious ways” I offered to ease her discomfort. Mage believed the powers people received were gifts from God. It was direct proof God existed. God had chosen particular people to work his will. Those with gifts were now to do God’s will. Those that worked against God, had been empowered by the devil. She believed she was a special agent of God. Her task was to deliver divine retribution when she came across it.

Who was I to argue against her reasoning. Her special power was illusions.

The last person entered the room and he sat next to me. Then the briefing started. At the end of the brief, he asked why he was there. Because he only had accelerated healing powers. When they finished answering his question I spoke up.

“My name is Iris for those that don’t know me. My powers can get me through anything, including that shield. I also have a way to deal with the super strong person.” I provided to help those planning our mission.View attachment 2188343

Ace in the hole?

I thought about it for a moment, "Well if we can get inside the protective bubble, I know that I can take down the electronics guy . . . in fact, with a weapon in hand, the leader, the teenager, and the telekinesis user will be the only real problem."

The suit nodded, "We have non-lethal weapons, before the mission you will get time to pick options."

The fourth person spoke up, "I create light constructs, I can play defense as well as offense, just get us inside that shield of theirs and I can keep us safe from their attacks."

I looked at him, "And you are called?"

"Ace." He replied and I nodded, so far he seemed to be the strongest of the group and I think that he realized that. I looked at Iris and the woman wearing a top hat, "Just out of curiosity Iris, can you only move only yourself through objects or can you do that with others as well?"

Iris

As the men explained their power I was impressed. Ace seemed like he had the most useful powers. But he was also quiet and was not taking the lead. The last person to arrive had not introduced himself, the the norm running the briefing had called him “Sargeant”.

What no one knew, was that I had planned to recruit a non-registered friend to help in this mission. I did not know her real name, but she called herself Captain Miller. Ex-military she was super strong. I had not seen her tear open a bank vault, but I had seen her pick up a car the toss it. My thought was she might be useful to deal with the other strong villain.

Sargeant asked me if I could bring others through the shield.

“No” I answered “I can only bring small objects with me, such as my clothing and a weapon. I’ll get inside the shield, and take out the shield generation super villain. That should open up the way for everyone else.” I explained.

“I can also generate copies of everyone. So bad guys, will not know who to shoot at.” Mage explained.

“What is the range of these non-lethal weapons?” I asked.

Techno-Claw

I could hear the wet sloshing as first one, and then two fingers slid in an out; My pussy was soaking wet within twenty minutes of this man’s hands being on me.

"Don't stop...oh fuck..." I grunted as I felt that knot in my belly.

What did he do, he STOPPED. OH...MY...GOD.

I felt those fingers slide out, using the oil and my own juices they began to rub and tease at the hard bud of my clit. I felt the hood sliding back as my body went insane.

"Oh...oh fuck..." I groaned.

By changing tactics; he didn't bring me back down; he left me hanging right there. I could see the cliff of my orgasm, but I was still steps away. How the hell was he doing this?

Then suddenly those two thick fingers drove back inside me.

"Fuuuckkkkkkkk" I groaned as my ass rose off the massage table.

He began to pump those fingers in and out; not fast, but slow and deep. I was coming unglued by now; that slow deliberate pace had covered the feet between where I was, and where the edge of the cliff was; but I couldn't seem to fall off.

My whole body shook and trembled, I felt my toes curling as my hands clawed at the table.

He continued to excite my pussy. I felt those fingers curl inside me; and when they did the tips scraped across that hidden spot deep along my walls. My heels dug into the table as my ass shot straight up in the air.

I didn't fall off the orgasm cliff, I fucking took a giant leap; and I went screaming.

"AAAAGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, yes...yes...yes" I chanted as my belly exploded in white fire.

When I am extremely excited I cum very hard; but frankly it had been a lot of years since that had happened. It happened there on that massage table. My juices all but sprayed out, coating his hand and arm; the cheeks of my ass clenched and my eyes screwed shut.

Through it all those magical fingers kept moving. So many men stop when a woman starts her orgasm; for me that simply stops the sensations that created the orgasm. He seemed to know this, and as waves rolled through my body; those fingers kept moving.

"Fuck...fuck..." I moaned as a second gush of fluids poured out of me, dripping to the table.

Slowly he eased my jelly body back to the table, and I just lay there a quivering mass trying to catch my breath. It may not have quite been the perfect orgasm, but it was a damn sight closer than anything I had experienced in over a decade.

By the time I caught my breath, and my body would respond to my commands; I reached up and pulled the small towel from my face.

“You can leave now” I told the masseur. The man bowed and walked out of the room.

I got up and dressed. I put on my “Techno-Claw” outfit. It was all black with small neon blue lit bands. The neon blue matched my glowing neon blue hair. If you have not guessed yet, I’m a super.

Some call me a super villain. Those people are correct… but not accurate. The system is evil. There are Norms that are using the system to screw everyone. Drug companies, big oil, Wall Street hedge fund managers… corrupt cops… you name it. The best way to fight evil is with evil. So, I have used my powers to get what I want. I’m tired of being screwed by evil Norms.

I could have been a hero. Maybe I should have gone that route. But I see the heroes and how they are controlled by the norms, receive almost no money, and are abused. I’m not stupid. Being a hero is just playing into the evil system that continues to screw everyone. No thank you.

I just had one of the best orgasms of my life, and my super powers made it possible. The massive house I live in, with the great view, are just of few signs of how evil pays for the good life. Being evil is not easy, and takes work. That is why I need to get going. I needed to meet with a fellow supervillain to set up our next jig.View attachment 2189366

The suit looked at Iris, "The weapons range from hand-to-hand, to long distance. For an untrained person, an SMG will be the best option, something like an MP-5 or a P-90. You will be able to fire accurately up to 100 meters."

His response piqued my interest, "That doesn't sound like the normal dart guns."

The agent shook his head, "No, conventional ammunition has been adapted to fire pellets, you can fit more into a standard magazine and only the toughest armor can resist the pellets and the mixture of gas and liquids it carries. The outer shell of the pellets acts like a needle, opening a microscopic entry point while the pellet compresses, forcing the contents into the target. If the pellet fails to penetrate, it ruptures, sending the contents spilling out. A lot of research and resources had gone into this creation."

My eyes lit up as he explained, this would be perfect and I could not wait to be shown the weapons available, I turned back to Iris, "If you have not fired a weapon before, I think that the best would be a weapon with a lot of ammunition or if it is possible a shotgun . . ."

"There are several shotguns." The agent interjected.

"So a shotgun would be best, just fire in the general direction, and the pellets' spread would do the rest."

"Wait a minute." Ace spoke up, "Who made you leader?"

I looked at him, frowning slightly, "What do you mean?"

"You are already speaking like it's been decided that she will be the one to take point. Like you decided it's the best option."

"Alright Ace, tell us your idea then." I countered.

He stared at me for a moment, "We hide underground, wait for them to come into range, and then attack them."

"You want to hide in a sewer and hope that they come that way?"

Mage wrinkled her nose, "I am NOT hiding in a sewer or storm drain."

"OK then, I have a better idea, how about we all give a plan and then vote on which one seems the best?" I suggested to the group in general.

Iris

“My plan is to get non-supers to engage. The female in the blue jumpsuit will create the barrier. I enter and take her down. I can “fade” out if plasma bolts or telekinesis people attack me. That will be Mage’s chance to generate a powerful illusion to take down the strong guy.” I explained.

“I’ll do what?” Mage asked

“I can enhance your illusion.” I explained. “It is a one-time thing. Then, Sargeant and Ace with non-super help take out the hacker, telekinesis, and plasma boy.”

“That is basically, Sargeant’s plan” Mage pointed out.

“Yes, and no sewers involved” I added

“Ok, I vote for Sargeant’s plan too” Mage added.

Alger

I looked at Iris, I did not know her, but I knew a feint and a lie when I saw one, she had something up her sleeve that she wasn't telling us. Years of working with soldiers taught you to see through all kinds of bull, and that didn't mean that it was only Iris hiding something away, the suits were hiding away something as well, but it was more a general secret than a specific one.

"Well, guess I have to agree, it is three against one." Ace spoke up.

"Fabulous, you have 30 minutes to gather any gear you think you might need and then you will be transported to the vicinity of the group."

I waited for the suit to finish and got up, addressing the group, "My name is Alger, I think we can stick with that for now."

I motioned for Iris to follow me, "Let's go check what we can get for you to use among the weapons. I think a shotgun will be the best idea for now. Something like a Striker, compact with a drum magazine."

The agent pushed open a door, the rest of the house have been converted into an armory slash mess hall, there were tables stacked with weapons and ammunition, weapons hung on two walls, and a corner held food and water. I led Iris to where the shotguns were laid out and looked around to make certain we were alone, I knew that the place would be bugged, but there wasn't any other way to ask her.

I picked up a shotgun, made sure it was safe, and handed it to her, "Try that one out, feel the weight and balance."

I suddenly moved closer to her, even behind the mask I could see that she was quite an attractive woman, "What are you hiding? There's something you're not telling us." I made certain that my voice was low enough that the ambient noises covered most of my words, out loud I said, "This is the safety, you won't be able to cock or fire the weapon with it on."

Iris

I picked up a shotgun and felt its balance. Short range, but you can’t miss. I had heard about the pellets and their ability to “knock” supers out. I hope these villains did not have a countermeasure to the pellets. That was when Alger whispered his questions

"What are you hiding? There's something you're not telling us."

I smiled and looked at him. Then he explained about the safety. “I see" I answered his safety statement. Then I answered his whispered question. "I think this shotgun needs a little extra, non-registered, punch. If you catch my drift?” I said to Algers and gave him a wink. He figured out I was answering his question by talking about the shot gun.

“Can you trust that non-registered shit?” He asked

“I have used it before and it’s been very trust worthy” I answered.

Alger

I was glad that Iris decided to play open cards with me, so we went about selecting a shotgun for her that she would be able to shift with and which had enough punch to take out any of the super-powered individuals inside the protection bubble. After that, I walked over to the food stations, and got myself a few protein bars and a bottle of water, skipping breakfast is not a good thing. I got myself kitted out with two pistols, ammunition, a tonfa with taser tips, and a P-90 SMG.

I had just finished my meal of water and protein bars when the agent knocked on the doorframe to get our attention, "Time to go."

I waited for the rest of the group to follow the agent and then walked out after them, closing the door behind me. I know that it wasn't that bad, I literally felt like a walking arsenal, but like our weapons instructor always said, "Better to have it and not need it than to leave it at home and need it."

Our transport was an SUV, the agent who had answered the door was behind the wheel and once we were all seated, he took off. Although nobody would admit it, you could cut the tension with a blunt blade, "Where are we heading?"

The agent glanced at me in the rearview mirror, "Liberty Bank, corner of Heart and Cross."

I nodded and glanced at Iris, that should have given her an idea where to send her asset to, although I didn't know if I could trust anybody in this group, much less if I could trust any unregistered person outside of the group, you had to put your trust somewhere and this was me placing my trust in Iris and her "friend".

Captain Ruth Miller

Ruth peered out of the window to the bank building across the street. It looked normal to her. Iris, her friend, had texted her to be here and ready for action. Iris had used capital ASAP in her texted. It sounded so urgent. So far, however there had been nothing going on. Ruth had been in the Army. She knew all about waiting. Patience was a way of life in the Army. Iris had never been wrong before, so Ruth waited.

As she waited, her thoughts returned to the Army. She had made Captain, but had decided to get out. The fact that she like women was the main reason. The Army’s official policy was tolerant towards being a lesbian. But unofficially, there was still too many people with hang up about it. Funny thing was she liked men too, but she just liked women more.

She had gotten out, and then The Wave hit a week later. She often wondered what would have happened had she been super strong in the Army? She was certain the Army would have wanted her to stay. But the whole experience had soured her on the government. When the registration law was passed, she decided to ignore it.

Then a black SUV pulled into a parking spot a block away from the Bank. Ruth smiled. That sure looked like a government SUV.

“Time to rock and roll” She said as she slipped on her protective gloves.View attachment 2190555

We got out, the agent waiting only to confirm that our communication devices were working, before he drove off, leaving the four of us to our own devices.

"The fire and noise are coming from that direction, I think it will be better to keep them away from the bank and set up an ambush for them further down the street."

The two women agreed and Ace grumbled but gave a reluctant nod, we moved towards the sounds of gunfire, sirens, and people screaming. It looked like a scene out of a movie, or at least from this distance. "Iris we will need you on the ground, you will be our vanguard. Remember, hide well and go for the shield caster the moment you get inside. It is vital that you take her out first."

I turned to Ace, "I will stay on the ground level as well to give Iris covering fire the moment the shield goes down. As I am not familiar with Mage and your powers, I will leave it to you two to get the best positions to use your powers to the best advantage."

New alliance

Slasher was waiting when Techo-Claw arrived, he wasn't sure why the boss wanted to meet with somebody like her, but orders were orders. He looked her over, to him she didn't seem like much, except for the shocking color of her hair. He stepped forward, "Techno-Claw?"

She nodded and he continued, "I'm Slasher, my boss told me that I should meet you here and take you to meet him."

"Master Mind sent you?"

He nodded and he could feel her scrutiny, before she nodded in return, he led the way to the car and opened the door for her, getting behind the wheel and drove off towards the mansion on the outskirts of town.

Iris

“Damn… nothing subtle about these villains.” I remarked as I looked down the street towards the bank building. One of the police cars was enveloped in flames. The police were behind another car and shooting into the building. As we approached a set of plasma bolts shot out of the broken bank windows blasting the second car. The police were scrambling to get away from the flames.

“Take cover everyone” I said, then I yelled to the police.

“Officers…. I got this, please back away” I declared. I had not told anyone, but I was not going to take cover. I decided the best way to force these villains into an ambush was a more direct approach.

I walked right down the middle of the street. Now if I were to follow the superhero playbook, I’d challenge the bad guys… called them scumbags or something…and they would come running out. But I’m a trained therapist, I was going to do this my way.

“Folks trying to rob the bank. You need to STOP!” I said loudly but calmly as I got closer to the bank’s main door.

The response I got from inside the building was “Fuck Off!” Then two jets of plasma came out of the window directly at me. Normally I would just fade away and the jet could not harm me. But I wanted the bad guys to think they had the upper hand. So, I jumped to the side, as the flames just missed me. I moved to the building wall, so plasma bolts guy could not hit me unless he came out of the building.

“Please come out… with your hands up” I ordered. “I really don’t want to hurt any of you. I’m a super too… that is why I wear this silly black costume and mask. Let's just discuss this situation like adults.” I added. I thought it was a nice touch.

The bank’s front door blew open so violently it bounced down the street for 30 feet. A transparent blue bubble surrounded three villains came out on the street. One villain was a female in the blue jumpsuit. I was told she creates the barrier. A smaller man with lots of muscles. I figured he was the enormous strength guy and a teenager with his hands at the ready, Fire plasma bolts boy.

“Hi, my name is Iris. Now let’s talk” I suggested.

“How about YOU DIE” The rash teenager said and blasted me with fire bolts. I faded this time. Mage was ready to help too. Suddenly, there were 5 more of me in different location on the street.

As the flames died out. I faded back. I ran towards the shield. So did all my duplicates.

Techno-claw

“Slasher seemed like a low life henchman, in other words “a loser””. Techno-claw thought. “I sure hope mastermind is better looking and more intelligent.” Secretly, that last orgasm she had, felt pretty good, she was hoping to get laid by someone in this evil group.

Her thoughts changed as they drove up to master mind’s mansion. The place was huge and elegant. The outside had a Mediterranean feel to it. The magnificent exterior, smooth stucco walls, clay tile roofing, wonderful views were better than her house.

“Nice place, Master Mind got” Techno-claw observed.

Slasher just nodded his head and drove up to the front door.

Techno-claw stepped out of the car. The front door was opened by a butler “This way Ms Claw” he said.

Techno-claw glanced at the expensive artwork, high soaring ceilings, marble columns, elegant spiral staircase, and statues which all screamed of money and power. The butler brought her to the back of the mansion to a balcony overlook the swimming pool and hot tub both with amazing blue tiles and roman columns.

“Shall I bring you some wine, while you wait?” The butler asked.

“Yes” Techno-claw agreed.

Master Mind

He entered the room after a few moments, he had his mask on and was dressed in his black suit and cloak. He took a seat opposite Techo-Claw and looked at her for a moment, then nodded.

"Yes, I am Master Mind and Slasher is much more than what he looks like. He transforms into an oni and his claws are made up of pure energy."

He tilted his head slightly, "And no I am not some freak or hiding a scarred face, the mask helps me to focus one of my powers, which you have most likely figured out by now is telepathy."

He held up a hand, "I will not delve into your mind every time, I just did it to make certain that you are who you claim to be. Now, let's get down to brass tacks. I have had my eye on you for a while now, you will be a perfect fit for the plan I have been working on. But you will not be doing the work on the street level anymore, it will be time to step things up, to aim higher. If you agree to this alliance, I have the perfect position for you, you will be my right hand and take over control of the groups working for me all over the world. I will share with you my vision and trust you to make it a reality."

Techno-claw

The butler brought Techno-claw her glass of wine. She gently picked the glass off the silver tray and thanked the man. The glass felt good in her hand and she clutched it for security. She took a sip of wine, thinking some, before replying to Master Mind’s statement.

He had entered her mind. He knew what she was thinking! In this case, it had been about Slasher. Her thoughts about him had been pretty far away. So did his abilities stretch that far? Or was he picking up on some of her more recent surface thoughts? It was most likely the later… but it was too hard to tell. She did not like people reading her thoughts. But she did not want to say that to him. She did however, want to know more about his abilities.

“What is in it for me? Or did you already read my mind and know that I was going to ask that question?” Techno-claw asked.

Master Mind

"As I said, I did not intrude to stay in your mind. That would make this a very boring conversation. As you have noticed, being at the top can be quite lucrative, you will fit nicely at the top since you are already accustomed to this. You will receive a share of the income generated and if we come across any artwork or technology that you wish to acquire, we can discuss who gets the art and how we share the technology."

He paused to let that sink in, "You will find that I am a generous man, Ms Claw. Of course, you must also know that if you do accept, I will need a display of all your powers, just for me to know exactly what you bring to the table."

I did not expect Iris to move in to draw out the powered group, from the way the images flickered into being, it was clear to see that she and Mage have worked together before. I moved forward, trying to stay out of sight but getting a better vantage point to fire from. If I haven't known better, it might have appeared that just one powered person was charging that faintly shimmering shield. Unless they had been forewarned, there was no way that they would know that they were facing a person who could phase through matter and energy alike.

They soon found out that Iris wasn't a collection of holographic images when she brought up the shotgun and fired off the shotgun, it was semi-automatic and three of the blasts hit the female in the blue jumpsuit center mass. For a few moments, it seemed like nothing happened and then the bubble vanished as the woman slumped to the ground. A green shield appeared around Iris as energy bolts flew toward her, the shield blocking the attack. That meant, Ace.

Bringing up my SMG, I fired a rapid burst at the white-haired female, in my book she would be the more difficult one to take down due to her telekinesis. I wasn't sure if it was luck or if she was just taken off guard, but two of the pellets struck her in the face, her head snapped back from the impacts, then she started to stagger and finally collapse, which left us with only three more to deal with and they were now aware that they faced more than one person.

The large male reached into a bag hanging on his side and tossed something into the air, I watched as miniature drones first hovered and then started to dart around, looking for targets. "Shit."

Captain Ruth Miller

Ruth had been watching the fight unfold from her window. When the shield lady went down, she knew it was time for her to join in.

She opened the window and jumped out. That kind of fall would have put a Norm in the hospital. It was nothing to Captain Miller. She did a “Super” landing. Then she sprang into action. She slammed into the small man with lots of muscles.

The guy tumbled into the side of the bank. There was a loud thud, but he got up as if it was nothing to him. Ruth saw the drone launch out of the corner of her eye, but she had been in enough street fights and wars to know better than to get distracted in a life-and-death struggle. The small guy came at her swinging. She blocked his punches and threw a few of her own. She figured out quickly, that he was strong, maybe stronger than she was, but he was not a trained fighter. She had her Army experience to fall back on and she used it. More and more of her punches were landing as she beat him backward.

Then there was a loud BANG, and the strong guy fell over. Ruth looked and saw Iris smiling as she lowered her shotgun.

“I had him” Ruth said complaining

“But I got him” Iris replied

The drones didn't seem to bother too much with Iris or the new person who jumped into the fray and started fighting with the powerhouse of the group. They seem to fan out, looking for the person or persons who were firing from hidden positions. The teenage female seemed to be confused, clearly, she was taken by surprise and not sure what to do. As I lined up my shot, she turned towards Iris and the new woman, there was a flash of white overhead and a huge fist slammed into the teenager, sending her skidding along the ground.

The drones swarmed towards my location and split into two groups, one heading straight for me and the other higher up. Seems like Ace had drawn attention to us both, I adjusted my aim and fired, taking down a few of the small drones. They spread out and half of their number streaked forward, the others hanging back. An emerald-shaded shield suddenly appeared in front of me, just as the drones opened fire. They started to bob and weave, the ones that have flown forward veering off, looking for a way to get to me.

"Iris, you guys need to take out the tech guy, these drones are armed and if I am not mistaken, they have explosives as well."
