KKK and white supremacist are fascist by definition and ideology but don't have a dominance in our society like back 60 years ago. The KKK was an arm of Southern resistance to the reconstruction and the Republican party. The Democrats we're the party associated with the KKK, ( Sen Robert Byrd ) sticks in my head for some reason. ANTIFA is an underground movement steeped in violence. Like 1934 Germany it has no central leadership and operates via media encryption to this day. The title of this thread refers to the Neo fascist and racist Democratic Party. Now I've got no brief to defend the democrats but I can't put up with arrant nonsense like that so I will call it when I see it. I'm also gratified that there are some on the "right" who can see that it is nonsense and are prepared to say so.
It is very easy in the heat of the moment to grab a derogatory label and apply it to an idea or a group or an individual in an attempt to discredit or diminish or simply to insult it/them. The traditional label used in this way is socialist or, heaven forbid, communist. More recently fascist, and really recently Liberal. More often than not these labels are applied by intellectual wannabes who don't know the accepted definitions of these terms, and couldn't care less anyway, they have heard them used in a negative connotation by person they respect and simply throw them out as the worst insult they can think of. That pisses me off, whether it is democrats or republicans who use it.
Just my humble opinion.
