The Nationals "Historic" Come-From-Behind Road "Victory" Was Illegitimate!

The Houston Astros scored the most runs in the World Series and are therefore the legitimate World Series champions.

The Houston Astros outscored the Washington Nationals 35 to 33.

I think it is time to eliminate the outdated, tennis style credit for so-called wins and losses of individual, meaningless matches called "games" and go with a more democratic model of crowning the victor based on actual runs scored, which only makes sense. If you stop and think about it.

The whole point of America's favorite pastime is to score more runs than your opponents. Which the Houston Astros clearly did.

The current mindset is one that encourages fans to think of winners vs losers and that's not what we are about in America. Everyone deserves a trophy and the one with the most runs should get the bigger trophy.

Why do we even have win and loss columns? What does that do to players self-esteem and their ability to perform at their best and lift us all collectively in the shared experience?

Speaking of self-esteem, what influence did the heckling by so-called "fans" of each team on social media have on the self esteem of individual players ability to have their head in the game? I noted an uptick in what was likely Russian troll farm activity during this series indicating that either the Russians or the Ukrainians posing as Russians attempted to interfere in our national Pastime. I think we should have some Congressional investigations about the matter.

Don't Tweet this, the Millennials and Gen Z babies might take you seriously.

African-Americans are underrepresented on the National's roster in violation of EEOC guidelines. They should be stripped of their title.

Wrong.

The correct analogy would be with a single game. The Astros scored way more runs but due to an ancient out of date system, it's up to a handful of umpires to decide which runs count more than others.

After the fact, it's discovered the Nats planted or bought off umpires (with the help of Canada) to tilt the antiquated system in their favor. So even though the Astros scored double the number of runs, they lost.

The majority of Americans say F That. Let's get rid of the Umps and just count runs.

Actually, my analogy was far better than yours, Betty. Yours was poop.

Umpires have the final say, and the players can’t just invoke witch hunts and executive privilege in order to claim that they’re winning.

It only takes one run to win a baseball game - just one. It’s pretty much the same as one more vote in the Electoral College, despite all those “popular” votes in the 2016 election. The system works😎

You have successfully comprehended the analogy of the original post. I’m sure that there must be a prize for that.
