Why isn't it spelled cooffee? But you could carry that too far. ccooffee, just wouldn't work.

And while I'm at it, why does bacon make your coffee taste weird but coffee doesn't make your bacon taste weird. That is just weird. Maybe I can find a chemistry major here at the local college that wants to write their theses on the subject.
