Well, I have declared my surrender and am skulking back here where I belong. I can't compete with bitches like that...it's just not in me anymore.

The sad thing is tho Freya..no one need not feel like they have to compete. Like i have many times said..i have long since grown out my "sweet valley high" novel days..LoL!!!:p

I go about my way..post where i choose..now if i post on the gb..i post for my own sake to say what i have the right to say..i don't care who looks at my post, who responds..hell whatever..i flip the script..some might think i'm not good enough to know thier friendship..and those same people are probley not worthy of knowing mine..it goes both ways, some are too ignorant to see it...and that's what i find highly amusing..LoL Shhh don't tell anyone tho:D

Well, I disappear for a few hours and miss all sorts of wonderful new people! Well, hopefully I'll get to know everybody as time goes on. I look forward to that!

Although I am very pleased and a little humbled that some of the "regs" and "old timers" have stopped in, I would especially like to welcome those who are fairly new to Lit. This place can be a bit overwhelming at times, especially if you poke and explore around. Hopefully, this thread can offer a place of rest and conversation, as well as a place to ask questions you might feel too awkward asking elsewhere. (I know - I been there!)

As far as the General Board goes, I will make just a few comments, though I encourage others to talk as freely as they wish. As I said earlier, I started out on the Sexual Roleplay Forum, which for those of you who don't know, doesn't get a whole lot of respect from regular "Literoticans". From there, I tried jumping into the morass of the GB, and was ignored quite a few times. And, much to my own embarassment, I did get caught up in more than one pissing match on things that were best left off of a bulletin board. I've taken my "lumps" there. I've come out bruised, with a black eye or two. Then I learned not to take it so seriously. I learned the different personalities and who I got along with and who I didn't. I steered clear (and still do) of those who I don't see eye to eye with, and talk to those who have earned my respect. Others are simply funny and amuzing, and I follow their posts as well. I doubt I'll ever achieve any sort of "fame" on the GB, and that's okay. It's just another place to post, just as the "Author's Hangout", "How To", and "Story Ideas". If you let the GB get to you, it will. And yes, there can be predators there who will jump on anyone they consider not strong enough to "take it". Sometimes it's best to shake the dust from your feet and move on - until another topic interests you.

One thing I can say is that if one is diligent, you will get noticed and one day you will receive that unexpected PM that just makes your day. So, there can be good experiences as well as some not so good experiences.

Okay. That's my diatribe on the General Board.

Now, let's see. Looks as though I've stumbled onto something with this "Misfits" title. Chromefreak - I hope you come back and explain to this "dunder-head" what "Misfits" are! I'd be interested in knowing!

Let's see, I guess I'm a misfit of sorts.....I seem to keep to my pic posting addiction...but I can truthfully say that I've been welcomed on all the threads I've posted on so far....maybe not too warmly at times, but civil.Truth is, I kinda like the thought of a thread that I can pop into now and then and people won't care if I'm here and gone at times....or I just butt in for the fun of it. Lots of times I don't post my opinions simply because I'm wiped out by the end of the day, and I just want to keep it fun and simple. Being a librarian tends to make me want to shy away from in depth discussions. But when I do that, I'm often thought of as rather lacking in intelligence. Oh well, I'm not really here to impress....just to talk...be me...So, that being the case, I'll keep this thread in mind from now on!!:rose: :rose:
CB--I have known you for quite awhile now--your wit and intelligence are always appreciated! Hugs and kisses--AA

They're an old Goth/Punk band. Glen Danzig's child. Lots of songs about horror movies, aliens, demonic stuff, Etc. Cool stuff like "Braineaters" and "Mommy, Can I Go Out And KILL Tonight" 3 Chords, lots of chanting. catchy tunes. My garage band in high school played a lot of their songs, mainly because they were all we COULD play. What amazes me is they're one of the few punk bands that actually has a box set.

They went through a number of members over the decades, but they're still around with a new vocalist. In later years their sound evolved (or devolved) into heavy metal.

Glen Danzig later went on to several solo projects, sang with The Power and Fury orchestra on the "Less Than Zero" soundtrack and wrote the song "Thirteen" for Johnny Cash's 1994 album "American Recordings" (HIGHLY Recommended)

..i'm glad you came back to tell her more tho..

Music is one of the topics that can get me babbling for hours, and I'm always wiling to listen to others babble about it for hours, keep my mind open to new influences. Other topics are cars, motorcycles, college drinking stories, pets (parrots / tarantulas) and of course, SEX.

Everything creative or destructive I do, I do while listening to music. When I draw, write, rebuild carburetors, go on drinking binges at local redneck bars, etc. There is ALWAYS music. Dire Straits "Sultans of Swing" is playing now, and I think I need to hear Chris Rea's "The Road to Hell" next. I'm in a blues kinda mood at the moment.

Back to Danzig's work, "Under Her Black Wings" was one of the songs playing on a mix tape of mine while I was losing my virginity, Dream Theatre's "Pull Me Under" and Prince's "When the Doves Cry" were other memorable ones off that tape.

Gotta run for a little while. I'll be back soon, though. I like this thread and the people using it!

maybe this oughta be called " the wallflowers thread"

I wonder how many Lit folks were wallflowers in high school. raise your hands !

How do you know?

Did you go to your prom? If so, did you go " dutch"? Did you go straight home?

If you answer " no" to the first, or " yes" to any of the rest, you are a wallflower. If you pass this test, you may still be a wallflower. Who has more test questions?

Was not a wallflower in high school...i went to prom all four years of high school with dates...did not go dutch...and no, did not go straight home after except one year...(mom was in hospital having back surgery and had a little sister to help with)

But am definitely a wallflower now...(waving from the corner)

You are very many body parts above the crowd, Dear, not just head and shoulders. It's hard to compete with ankle biters anyway.

My son and I really dig "Tool" these days. I feel that their stuff is a great blend of modern lyrical thinking and style with some sound exploration and a lot of good old kick-ass rock and roll.

But most of my opinions are luke-warm and timid.

I agree. Not to get back into this GB vs PG war or anything....but I have posted htere now at least 10 times in the last 2 days and it's as if I am invisible. In fact, some guy started a thread, I answered first, some girl answered after me...he jumps on says hi to her and nada to me...now what the fuck is that?

When I was new, I came here...first post I got a response and almost every one since then. Whatever those anal retentive dickheads might think...this is the place to be.. a place with warm, friendly people who don't have their heads up their asses. Fuck the GB! *end rant* Sorry!
I had a simimlar experience with a first few tentative posts over there. Who needs it?
The people here are moslty friendly... most VERY friendly :D

And BTW, I try to respond to as many posts as I can, but r/t gets in the way at times, so I hope I'm not one who hasn't replied to you... that would be devastating... :(

Hello everyone... I guess I'm one of the lucky ones here.

Being and Aussie, I have a home with the Aussie thread... it's a very warm and fuzzy thread, so it's a nice place for me to hang out.

And again, because of my age, I spend some time in the Over 40's thread. So as I said, I am one of the lucky ones. I can imagine how daunting it could be for a newie without a home.

If no body minds, I'd like to pop in from time to time all the same, just to say hello, and to meet more people here.

Thanks... :rose:

aha!!! Now I see it...It's the MISFITS thread.

i thought it was the Mrs. Ifits thread for a moment.

She'd have been flattered beyond belief to know that there was a whole thread devoted to her.

Still, it wasn't to be.

Mr. Ifits

Golly, glad i'm not alone...i have posts on Author's Hangout, How To..., BDSM, GB (not in a long time), and PG...and so many of them go unnoticed, looked over, ignored, etc...it's hard to pour your heart into saying something and have it ignored...it's hard to want to go back, or come back whatever the case may be...i, too, have been the first to post something on a thread and then the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th person get comments galore and it's like i never existed...i'm glad i'm not the only one that happens too...it's easy to feel left out when half the threads have the same 5 people posting and gaining all the attention for what they have to say and everyone else just falls by the wayside...dedication threads to the same people over and over and over again...but it's the same all over the net, in chatrooms and bulletin boards...so...(shrugs)

in addition to that lovely  shape, the sun [pattern is eyecatching. Is it a custom pic, or off the net? The photographer has real talent for composition( not to mention choice of subject ;) )
