The mind boggles...

I met this couple when they owned the Oasis winery in Huntley, Virginia--before the White House escapade. They'd sell their own mothers to get into the background of a celeb photo (well, they actually did sell his mother, come to think of it. She is coowner of the winery and they've locked her out of her house and are tring to sell it out from under her).

They certainly didn't seem anything like a "normal" couple when the White House stuff broke. I'd never heard of them (not surprising) before and I didn't follow all the gossip rags, but whatever broke in traditional (?) papers was enough to put me off.

And to think, I liked Journey... I may have to reconsider.

I think you wouldn't be hearing about them now either if they didn't have to do something to get noticed again. Her TV show has been canceled and the winery is going to a bankruptsy auction. (The winery is in a great location as far as scenery, but they had dolled it all up in fake Grecian statutues and such. Very tacky. But then so are they.)

I'm glad you aren't thinking about it too long.

Probably better not to think about it at all.

I really only know about it in the first place b/c I check the Washington Post site a lot. It's not my local paper anymore, but I still look to them for a fair bit of national and international news, and check the Philly site for more local stuff. They certainly came across as tacky, in the stuff I read.

Nope, definitely trying not to think about it except in rather oblique, cultural-effect from a distance ways. :)

CNN is running the story today. Probably not Fox. They contributed a lot of Momma's money to the Republican presidential campaign.

Is this the end of the Tareq and Michaele love story? Or just another darn publicity stunt?

Erm. . . WHO ?
Deprive them of the publicity, perhaps ?

No, they will still each be in love with her/himself after it's all over and they are well on their way to their next stunt.
