It's about time to get creative and write. Damn the critics, load the word processor, full speed ahead.

Congrats. I didn't even know about this until you mentioned it. I was nominated in the little-seen Letters category for my story Dear Matt, My Husband, my first time writing in that category. If you hadn't said something I would have been oblivious to it.

Congratulations Simon. They were just posted yesterday. You’d think that nominees would get a notification, but nope.

I was surprised and thrilled to see that "Just Roomies" was nominated in Mature.

I'll have to take a look at some of the other stories.

Congratulations to all the nominees!

I'd take a gander at the nominations, but I'm certain I'm not there. I'll look and read them before the deadline.

It's weird. There's no clear notice given that would catch anyone's attention unless you're looking for it.

I remember this happened in the summer of 2017 when a BDSM story I had published in late 2016 was nominated for the 2016 contest. I had no clue, but I noticed that all of a sudden the story's views spiked for unknown reasons. I had to dig a while to find out it was because it had been nominated. It ended up placing second, which I thought was great because at that point I hadn't expected the story to get any more attention at all.

There ought to be a more conspicuous notice posted in this forum about the nominations.

By the way, I wasn't downplaying the nominations. Congratulations to all of you who were nominated, and best of luck. I still haven't found the nomination or voting thread. But I haven't actually looked for it yet either, which is probably why I haven't found it. Funny how that works.

You won't find it in the Hangout. Look in the Awards and Contests forum. You'll also see it at the top of the "News" column (does anybody actually use that regularly?) on the main Literotica page.

Oh, I hardly ever go to the main page. Thanks for the information.

I just received a notice from Laurel that the nominees for the 2022 awards are notified by email at the email account associated with the site membership. I checked, and sure enough the notice was in my inbox this morning. So y'all should check your emails.

I literally had a moment just this morning where I was looking for the nominations and got distracted for a few minutes, and when I went back to that tab I thought "Whoa! They nominated one of my stories! Oh wait! There are two of my stories nominated! Wait there's.....oh.....this is the wrong tab."
I was looking at my own profile.
Just a brief insight into how my day is going.

Wow - what a year it's been at the doghouse:
One Million Words
2nd Place April Fools
3rd Place August 2022
now two nominations for readers choice.
How am I going to top this next year?

That's how I discovered it this AM

The 2022 Readers Choice nominations have been posted, and I have received two!

Funny little fact, Isabel , which is nominated for Best Novel/Novellas, is the longest standalone story I've written, and
The Blowjob at the End of the World, nommed in Humor&Satire, is the shortest. I'm hoping it wins as a vindication for all the 750 word stories that got unfairly low ratings.

I did not look too closely over all the categories, but I saw some familiar names among the nominated authors, including @SimonDoom, @Duleigh , @Omenainen, @AwkwardMD, @TarnishedPenny and @onehitwanda

Congratulations to all the nominees!
Congrats....maybe they'll announce the winners by mid 2024

I knooooow! I’ve never been nominated before! I’ve been most surprised with the success of my anal story. I didn’t know it was in the top places for the category all time list, (it was even number one for a while!), because I thought all categories had scores higher than that (4.82 at the moment)(well maybe not LW but I haven’t posted there). Life is just full of surprises.

Also: come vote for me, everybody 😜

Not unless you vote for me first

I posted the link to the voting thread in the coffee shop along with the morning coffee.

Not to be an asshat but I'd like to point out that chapters are not stories, they are parts of stories.

I have no idea what that means. I was just making a joke about us being nominated in the same category.
It would make it difficult for us to vote for each other there. I'm just amazed that with all the last minute fiddling I did with my story that anyone noticed it. At the last minute I couldn't kill off the FMC... just couldn't do it. Major re-write for this and the parallel story We're a Wonderful wife... the nomination for this is kind of unique. the chapter that clinched the Novella nomination is the same story as the story that clamed the Horror nomination they're told from 2 different angles.
