The Milestone thread...Brag here.

He had a milestone to brag about. He'd just bagged his 39th bitch of the year. She was a small one, but a nice form, which would look good, stuffed and mounted on a pedestal with the others in the trophy room.

How's that for a villain?

Hey I always root for Vader. Your job is to make a good villain, you don't have to make sure everyone roots against them. Although, I guess there's Vader and then there's Amon Goeth... Some villains are harder to root for than others!
There's conflicted villains some can identify with, a bit more gray than outright black, but then there's the irredeemable scum. Society has embraced the nti hero, but sometimes its still fun to just boo and hiss and root for the demise of a POS

Well, first off, its context. Post that in LW and he's their idol. But now I need to write his being brutally eviscerated by me female femme fatale. I'd do it here, but might get pulled faster than my last thread.

I mean... you keep saying that, but the numbers don't bear it out. With some of the commenters? Oh, sure. There are some people commenting that deserve to be on watchlists. But scorewise? Nah.

I've just submitted my 13th story, just 9 months since my first. I'm very happy that for the most part, my work has been well received. I've 9 of 12 with an H and I think after a sweep that could pop up.

My first foray into LW was wildly successful with a 4.43 rating, which in that category I'll call a 6.

I've my first sci-fi, fetish, and fantasy stories in the works, and on the whole, I'm just enjoying myself immensely.

Lastly, I'm very happy to have found a community of fellow perverts with whom to derail threads with. 🤪

@MelissaBaby - I was thinking about a roller derby story too, I might contact you after I read yours. Would that be cool?

These days many of the good scores come from revenge stories, and that's that crowd in a nutshell. You can defend it, I can attack it. Its a free forum.
But the fact we recently had a forum member driven off here by that crowd isn't a great help to your cause. There's sane readers and authors there, but if not outnumbered, they're certainly shouted down by the rabble.

Its been some time since I said this. BTB stories are written by trash for trash. I like saying it because I know they ghost here, but I'm not a young woman so I have no worries.

Ironically the one LW story I have that's over a 4.5 is a burn the bastard story. It was written in 2012 and was around a 4.10 back then, crept up over time. But I think if I posted it today the thing wouldn't see a three.

Many? Sure. But almost none of the top scores do. Of the current top 5 of the last thirty days, one is marked with "BTB" as a tag, and nothing particularly bad happens to the wife; certainly nothing violent. In there are a love story about a husband and his departed wife, a spy thriller, and a period piece about two drug runners that fall in love. Of the next 5, half are BTB; again, no violence, and the worst consequences in most of them is an unhappy life after the divorce.

And given that I've written a handful of BTB stories, and I'm, you know, not trash, that kind of puts the lie to your blanket statement. Unless you do think I am, in which case...

I think you're too talented to be trash. At least in MHO.

Were I the bragging type, which we all know I'm not, I'd do a small crow and a happy dance that my new story here is doing well. At least for me. 11160 reads (or views really) 4.09 on the 162 votes, 9 new followers, and 18 favorites in 55 or 60 hours on the site. Really-a-big-fucking-deal, right? NO, not to you guys it isn't. But to me it is!
Oh, no, that's awesome! I can still recall my utter delight when my very first effort got thousands of views the first night. I had no idea how many readers the site had. Since I'd never set up a Lit account until just a few days earlier, I had never known you could add stories or authors to a "Favorites List." Then I started getting notifications that "So-and-so has added your story to favorites" and "So-and-so has started following you." WOW! So exciting! Then I started getting e-mails from people and realized I shouldn't have used a work e-mail with my real name on it...

It is tough now to mention the numbers I get without sounding either jaded or like I'm bragging. I'm close to some milestones I would have never imagined. I'm just not that good! But that early period, when I really didn't know what I was doing or what to expect, was exciting and fun and had me writing like a madman. It's still fun, but the novelty has worn off quite a bit.

I laughed when I read that, because when my daughter was three, we were out one summer evening admiring the sky. We had a mostly full moon, low on the horizon so it looked particularly large and bright. My daughter said, "It looks like the Death Star!" Then she frowned and added (BITTERLY!), "Before Luke Skywalker showed up and ruined everything." I'd never heard anyone spit the name "Luke Skywalker" like that before.

When we took my girls to see The Fellowship of the Ring my oldest was 11. When they get to the scene of Boromir's death, and he takes the arrow, goes down, gets up, takes another arrow etc...my daughter, loud as anything blurts out "Is he gonna die already or what?" Had everyone around us laughing, and my wife sighs, "That's all yours."

Considering I've only been brave enough to write one LW story, I guess that makes me just a little bit trashy. LOL

That would be fine.

Hey, maybe if enough of us write roller derby stories, we can ask Laurel to give it it's own category.
