The Milestone thread...Brag here.

I could write a burn the bitch/bastard story, maybe. But I'd never wanna write a hot-wife story, and I REALLY wouldn't ever wanna write a cheating story.

So I think LW and I were just never meant to be.
Try stretching your imagination and make a few subtle shifts in characters, and you might surprise yourself.

I liked writing about the swinger couple I developed over multiple stories. They had their swinger rules of extra-marital sex (trolls hate that) together at house parties. Then after I had some discussions in the forums about open marriages, I tried my hand at a "lightly toasted" bitch who "misled" her husband story. My favorite swingers are having some marital problems.

My 11K word story "What Were You Thinking?" has exceeded my expectations in LW! Right now, it's at almost 56k views and 968 votes! It's at 3.29, but that's to be expected, because I didn't BURN her or get revenge on her lover (husband thinks he's a good guy she also misled into thinking she had her husband's approval).

Now I'm having fun working on a sequel with the aftermath, and the couple going to marriage counseling and therapy.

Were I the bragging type, which we all know I'm not, I'd do a small crow and a happy dance that my new story here is doing well. At least for me. 11160 reads (or views really) 4.09 on the 162 votes, 9 new followers, and 18 favorites in 55 or 60 hours on the site. Really-a-big-fucking-deal, right? NO, not to you guys it isn't. But to me it is!
Sure, you don't brag.

Write a story about a virtuous wife who's only lover is her husband, the husband who is amazingly handsome, built like a weight lifter, a successful doctor and the envy of all around him. In fact his license plate is ALPHA, and in the story his wife tells him over and over how lucky she is and how unworthy she is to have him, and how could he possibly love a member of her filthy horrific gender.....

You'd hit high with that one.
I'm detecting a bit of snark, and I'm not sure where it's coming from. Is it my imagination?

Why would you want to be snarky with me?

You detect a lot of snark, but its aimed at the category, not you.
I've stepped in things that smell better than the readers over there.
Fair enough. I thought that was an attack on my choice to avoid cheating stories. As in, "Oh you're too good for LW? Well go write the perfect Mary Sue tale."

But I see what you were getting at. 🤣

It's snark at LW. It's a real mixed bag. The story would still probably need her to burst into flames for the perfect five-oh though.
Nah. I have enough of a spread of stories now that I can say pretty definitively that what scores well there is not ridiculous conflagrations but the husband breaking things off, picking himself up again, and building a newer better life for himself. The commenters aren’t the voters there. Violence and extensive, cruel burning scores better than reconciliation, but only barely. “A life well lived” is the winning strategy.

You are too good to write there, we all our. Some of us just like to hear the pigs squeal from time to time.

Mary Sue...good analogy. Write about the manliest man who ever manned and his demure 1950's wife who knows her place and it would be a big time hit over there in cold male insecurity land.

I'm actually writing a mind control (basically a horror story) based in a world where mind control has rendered almost all women into "perfect" submissive slaves.

The first comment I got was a guy telling me that I was only using mind control as an excuse to torture women 😜 (this was back when my pfp was a nondescript heart, and I had no info in my bio)

I only have nine stories up, but six are red H's -- one of the red H's is a dropoff in readership and votes owing to a category change, but still.

Of my three without ...

* One is in NC/R, which is a tough crowd to start with.
* One is in Non-Erotic, with a significant passage detailing the female lead explaining physiology in conjunction with her Christian faith. (In fairness, she's explaining to her two-year-old granddaughter.)
* And the third is a First Time that leaves my couple in limbo as of publication time, in that they didn't know whether they'd be a couple going forward. So that probably had to do with it.

But still, red H's are red H's, am I right?

(My one poem has a 4 rating ... but only that one vote, and not even 300 clicks.)

My first husband and I spit many, many years ago, and while I'm still married to my second husband, he just left his third wife for a younger woman. He's now in his 50s and marrying a 21-year-old when the ink is dry on his newest divorce.

I never cheated on him, but often when I write a cuckold, he's my model.

Not looking to turn this into a deep conversation, but...for me personally if a man wrote that story I'd be disgusted; another loser who hates on women and needs them degraded and controlled. A woman writing it doesn't hit the same way. Its the difference between a story by someone with fantasies of being controlled more than it is from the one who wants to be the controller....rape v rapist fantasy

Just my take on it, not saying I'm right, its just my view which is admittedly skewed by the fact I hate most men.

If I read this right....you're saying your first husband is leaving his third wife to marry number four who is the mid life crisis sugar baby?
Yeah, to go back to my last post, this is why I see a lot of men as crap. I'm sure if he has any friends they think he's a 'real man'

I suppose you and Millie get along well. Though she only hates many men, not most.

He has as many friends as his money can buy. He has money now because he took so much from my family for me to secure my ghet. Though, he did make it fruitful and multiply.

I can honestly understand that (which is why I mentioned it).

Even if it was written by a man though, I thought it was clear that the abuse is coming from the obviously villainous characters.

James (the character in question in the first chapter) is sexist, racist, and a pure sadist. He's cruel because he's the villain.

Perhaps I did a poor job of showing that you weren't supposed to be rooting for him (but I don't know how I could have possibly made that more clear)

Millie and I...well, look I don't kiss and tell, okay?...joking, I don't need her wife hunting me down. But I mean that eye! Who wouldn't be enamored?
I learned men were trash by the time I was five, haven't seen much in the following fifty years to change my mind. Not that there's not good guys out there, but like in most cases, the scum really rises to the top.

Definitely, its a story and a fantasy...for most, but sometimes my mind wanders into is it just a story or a projection? I've worked on a volunteer level at a shelter for battered women for over twenty years. My view of men gets bleaker as time moves on.

James is how I write my villains, I give them attributes most people would hate so the reader will want them to get theirs. That's why I have no patience for the "you can't write that because its racist and...." people should never sanitize what's out there, it helps them get the drop on people if you can't show that behavior is out there.

Hey I always root for Vader. Your job is to make a good villain, you don't have to make sure everyone roots against them. Although, I guess there's Vader and then there's Amon Goeth... Some villains are harder to root for than others!
