The Masters

A front just passed here. I'm about 3 hours from the course. So they'll get it around 2am or earlier. It shouldn't be a big deal unless it's foggy again. Colder and windy on Sunday they say.

It may soften up the course and let Tiger shoot at some pins. He just doesn't look like he has his A game this week.

Yesterday the on-air crew was talking about the likelihood of wind and rain late in the afternoon. Does that still seem likely? As I heard it, they were talking about timing that would bring in the weather as the leaders get started but after Tiger had played much of his round.

Radar from 9:30 Once this gets through it should be the end of it. There was some thunder here around 9. Could delay things a bit, but they should get most of the round in today I would think. With the cut they have plenty of make up time tomorrow morning if they need it.

Hell of a run by Fred considering all of his back problems.

Looks like they may have pushed starting times back about a half hour but there should still be plenty of time to finish today unless there's another delay.

Fred is in very good company. Sharing any record with Gary Player is something to cherish. I saw recently that he has had some work done on his back that's allowing him to feel good enough to practice more than he has in a long time. Maybe we'll see more of him this year than last.

Trevor is one heck of a golfer. We'll see how he holds up under Sunday pressure.

So, if a golfer is the Master, does that make the caddy a sub?

Normally I pull for Americans. But Trevor seemed like a really nice guy with a fantastic swing that really held up under pressure. I think he'll win some more majors before it's over.

Same here.

I enjoy watching Tiger do amazing things (imagine a mere mortal playing the 18th hole the way he did the last three days!) but it was really satisfying to watch Immelman manage the course well enough to keep his lead. It will also be interesting to see if Snedeker grows from his experience as a major contender or shrinks from it.

Snedeker has a bright future as well. He was the rookie of the year last year and won over 2.8 million. Top 25 in both the U.S. Open and PGA. Pretty impressive for a rookie.

I agree. Still, some guys never seem to recover from the disappointment of just missing out on the green jacket. Remember Chip Beck, or Scott Hoch? Curtis Strange is one of the few I can think of who essentially gave away a Masters win and then came back to do equally great things later.
