Should marijuana be legalized? I went to Google to see if I could find a poll as to the average person's opinion. The largest one I found was at the Mr. Poll website, and there were only around 120 people who took it.
Literotica has over 40,000 members... and I'd say we're all fairly indicative of society in general (maybe a bit more oversexed than some, but that's neither here nor there!). So let's see how people REALLY feel about this subject. VOTE NOW!
As far as my personal views go, I couldn't explain them better than Problem Child did in a thread awhile back (except to implore you to see "Traffic" if you haven't already):

The war on drugs is lost.
Drug use is climbing again (albeit slightly)
We tie up military forces guarding our borders, and raiding foreign drug labs.
We have one of (if not the highest) rate of incarceration per capita among industrialized nations, with about half the prisoners incarcerated on drug charges.
Our police departments have become swaggering, kevlar-suited hit squads that kick doors down and go in shooting.
We have made the drug industry highly profitable. So profitable that organized gangs who derive their money from drug sales control large sections of our inner cities.
Citizens found in possesion of marijuana have their homes and property unconstitutionally seized in drug raids. What has happened to the 4th amendment in this country?
We practice utter hypocrisy by glorifying alcohol and simultaneously villifying marijuana- the most benign drug on the planet.
We deny sick people a toke on a joint because of our misguided hypocracy.
We make illegal the growing of a crop that would supply us a great deal of useful fiber and oil, while at the same time saving our forests and giving farmers a new source of income because we believe we can change legislate human behavior.
We are stupid as fuck.
