Yes, every damn one of us go through a "my way or the highway" point in our lives. Most call it the terrible twos, a point of development where self-awareness (at the Id level probably for the shrinks among us) attempts to assert control over the external environment. Some (those approaching the Id10T level perhaps?) assert themselves once more upon approaching adulthood.
