The LOSER in the debate last night was

I agree, but not for the same reason. I think it was a waste of time. Harris was a prosecutor. She is familiar with going head-to-head with an opponent and it showed. Trump relied on the same tired rhetoric and fabrications he has for years and it showed.

The America people are the losers because neither candidate addressed (other than superficially) policies and projects they wished to implement if elected. Harris spent her time bating Trump and donald spent his time taking the bate and repeating things that have long been proven false while adding a few new ones (immigrants eating pets).

So what did it show us? That Harris can bate the donald and that he can in turn do his usual thing.

When will they get to a debate where they actually answer questions? For Harris: what are we going to do about the border? For Trump: what is the plan you have (and have had for years according to him) to replace the ACA? I understand that anything to do with either of these will have to go through congress, but at least we can be told what the plan is for starting the process. Neither one of the candidates have respectively addressed those issues in depth.

It's noteworthy that he dodged the abortion ban question and she dodged the "are you better off than you were four years earlier" question. Those are their weak spots in the armor and it showed.

Waaaahhhhh! I’m a staunch republican. I didn’t get the Fauci ouchi and I don’t care about gun reform or about having my tax dollars funding someone else’s education but, dammit, I care about my fellow Americans and we all lost last night when trump wasn’t able to skate by telling his usual laundry list of lies. 😢

An overwhelming majority of debate watchers said they thought Vice President Kamala Harris outperformed former President Trump in Tuesday night's debate, according to a CNN poll.

The survey respondents went into Tuesday night's debate split, with 50% saying they expected Trump to win and 50% saying they expected a Harris victory. By the end of the night, however, 63% said Harris came out on top, compared to 37% for Trump.

Broken down by candidate, 96% of Harris' supporters said they thought she won, while 69% of Trump supporters said the former president won.

The "...are you better off than 4 years earlier" is empty rhetoric. Why? Simple: Covid. You can't go through something like that and immediately return to what came before. No president could make that happen, no matter who says they can.

The one big one for me was Trump's attempted dodge on the ACA. He's been saying for almost a decade that he and the conservatives have "something much better than Obamacare". We've seen multiple attempts at repealing the ACA, yet over those years we have never seen hide nor hair of a replacement plan from him or his side. And last night he again showed that he has nothing ( not even an outline of a plan) in the pipe to replace the ACA. For me it was a uage screwup on his part.

And I really don't want to hear the tired old "well all politicians lie and they both lied" bullshit. Yes they did, they both stretched the truth, but it's a matter of degree. When one tells a few lies through an hour and a half and the other's lies can be clocked per minute, it ain't the same no matter how much you squint.

May I humbly suggest that what this actually showed is what many of our enemies and even manipulative allies already know about trump - that he is subject to his emotional whims. Putin, Netanyahu, and the likes of Erdogan just tend to use flattery to stroke his ego for their needs whereas Harris played him like a fiddle to get a negative reaction. Either way, he’s unhinged, unfit, and has always been terrible at negotiating for America’s interests. Others have made him throw tantrums before but we’ve ignored or dismissed. This one happened while Americans were tuned in and watching and this seems to have many suddenly taking notice. Good!

Well, I hope you don’t get attacked (just yet) without a kind offer for you to go into detail as to the why you make this claim.
Hell I've lived.. And attack on. I've fought too. Pfffftttt

The same arguments could be said to defend Democrats by that same logic.
