Lothak wanted nothing more than to run into the middle of the battle and kill as many demons as he could before he was killed but he knew that he could not give his life away to help a township of people, much that it pained him to think it.

OOC: Lothak, that is your town.

IC: Tyrael stood, dumbfounded. He had seen Tarasques before, and he had killed them, too. But this one caused more destructon than the rest combined. It was also much smaller than the rest(although bigger than the other demons), and looked human. He watched as the defenders slowly gave way, then surrendered. He watched as the leaders of the city were brought before him. A little conversation. Suddenly the Tarasque went into a concentration. He exploded his skin flying into a gutter. In his place stood a new Tarasque, 25 ft tall and muscles rippled everywhere. No longer did he look like a human, now he looked like a true demon. He roared long and loud, sending fear into the hearts of all who heard, even the demons. He suddenly tore out the leaders' hearts and ate them. Tyrael looked away in disgust. Then, the Tarasque turned around and went down some stairs. "We cannot attack something like that now", said Tyrael. "But someday, we can destroy this foul being", said Tyrael, looking at the friends.

When Lothak had seen that it was Graliel that had been damaged he wanted nothing more than to go down and kill the Tarasque but knew that it would not accomplish anything. He turned to the others and said, "We must get out of here. If we are found then I fear we will be brought before that Tarasque and when he realizes who or what we are he will destroy us."

My character:

Ferian Therdin
19
Black hair and dark brown eyes.

Wears a brown cloak covering everything except face, feet and hands.

IC: I cursed everything into the depths of hell while I walked. A small concentration of The Power, born from my irritation, desintegrated a small rock on the road.
I cursed my parents who had willingly handed me over to Garikia as soon as he had seen the spark of The Power inside.
I cursed Gerikia who had trained me in the abilities using The Power, also known as magic. It was him who had told me that I had to destroy the Demon Gates while he said it like it was a great honor to do so.
Well, I had never asked to be locked up in a cave with an old guy for 6 years of my life, while all I really wanted to think about was girls and having fun.
"Go to the city Grailiel and there you will find allies," he had said. HA, like that was going to happen. Several thousands of people was living in that city. how was I supposed to find a few persons who would WILLINGLY agree to destroy the Gates, pure suicide as it was.

When I approached the city, I was surprised to hear the clattering of swords combined with terrifying screams of death and fear. The sound of battle. I set into a run towards the battleground. I stopped just near a destroyed part of the city wall when I noticed a small group of people watching the scene before us.
So that's a Greater Demon, I thought now trembling with fear. Well, the old man couldn't blame me not wanting to enter this city, could he. I could as well return and tell him that it wasn't possible to do so.
Then I cought the look of one of those watching the fight. A dark elf. That meant that they were sided with the demons, but why didn't they help their winning comrades. The dark elf suddenly turned arround and cought my glance.

Lothak looked at the person who had appeared behind them and got to his feet quickly, his scimitars in his hands and said, "What are you doing here. Are you a spy for the Demon soldiers for if you are then I will kill you now."

Hesta sighed. "Use your brains, elf," She said,"He wears a look of fear and, were he with the enemy, I doubt fearing us would be on his mind."

Pointing to the destruction around them, she added,"Not to mention we would be hip deep in enemys and blood."

Getting off her horse, she approached the stranger and offered her familiar greeting and introduced herself as Hesta.

"Who might you be and why does your path cross that of our own and the evil you see before us?"

Lothak looked at the woman and sighed How can she not see how hard it is for me to make friends. The first thing they see is a dark elf and that is enough for them.

"I am sorry, I misjudged you. My name is Lothak and I am a paladin of Amaclee, my temple was in Graliel but I think it has been destroyed. What brings you here at such a time?" Lothak said as he slid his scimitars into their scabbards and bowed.

There was something surrealistic about that. A dark elf accused ME for being a spy for the demons. he had unsheathed his swords ready for use.
Then a woman approached me while telling the dark elf that he had to think before he acted and explained why I couldn't be sided with the demons.
She greeted me and introduced herself as Hesta. "Who might you be," she said. "and why does your path cross that of our own and the evil you see before us."
I gave her a rather nervous smile almost suspecting that she could draw her sword at any moment, cutting of my head. The dark elf sheathed his swords again, bowed, apologized for being so fast to prejudge me, again giving me a feeling of surrealism and told me that his temple in the city had very possibly been destroyed.
I had a hard time forgetting my prejudices, but if they wanted to kill me, then they would already have done so. I put up a rather nervous smile and answered the.
"My name is Therian and I was going to this city, when I found it destroyed by demons."
Suddenly something struck me. Garikia had told me to go to the city of Garliel, to find allies to help me on my quest. He didn't say anything about entering the city. ,aybe they were the ones he spoke of. If they were, I had to find someway to go with them, without telling them the truth. Users of magic was distrusted even more than dark elves were.

Lothak looked at the person standing before him and saw that there was something different with this person, something that he couldn't quite place his finger on but his senses had been bombarded with something, something that was coming from the human.

Hesta grimaced with frustration and nodded.
"Yes, we had just witnessed the destruction ourselves. The suffering is beyond belief, yet we are powerless to do anything except die if we try a direct attack."

Turning from the newcomer she approached the dark elf and said, loud enough for only him to hear as she did not want to embarrass him,"Forgive me, Elf. For a moment I forgot how it is to have your home destroyed before your eyes."

Then, to avoid prying eyes from the others, she walked to where her horse stood grazing and patted him to calm him as he smelled the death in the air.

Lothak looked at the Hesta as she calmed down her horse in confusion, he could never judge what women would do because just when he thought he knew what they would do they did something completely different.

He turned and looked at what was left of his home, tears slowly coming down his cheeks. He would make the Demon soldiers pay for this but first he had to find a way to stop them.

Tyrael looked at the newcomer. "Welcome", said Tyrael. "I was the most high archangel Tyrael", he continued. "i suggest we get away from this slaughter. "Do not worry, friend. We will return in greater arms", he said, putting his hand on Lothak's shoulder.

An archangel.... Either this guy suffered from severe Megalomania or I had truly ended up in a strange group.
A dark elf, some guy who thought he was an archangel, a woman who carried a weapon a way that more than suggested that she could use it, (I had heard about female warriors before but never really believed it) and one man who at least seemed normal. He was probably about to reveal that he were a weredragon or something like that.
In any case I pretended I believed him and greeted him.

Hesta nodded and mounted her horse.
"If we are to get out of here than we best do it now before we are discovered." Riding up to Therian, she held out a hand.

"And if we are to make haste we must ride. You are welcome to share my mount until we can get you your own," She said as she waited for him to take her hand.

I took her hand gladly. She helped me mount the steed and I got seated behind her.
Well, I was now going with them and at the same time I was on the back of a horse just behind a woman who was... not bad looking at all. It might be a serious quest but I could always get the best out of it as possible.

Before Lothak got onto his horse he took one look at the place that had been the only home that he had known for a while. He would destroy the demonds that did this and avenge the clerics who had taught him the way to use his gift and how to use his powers as a paladin at their fullest.

He turned to the others and said, "I must leave this place for I fear that if I do not then I will try to avenge my friends that are probably dead by now."

"We'll want to head east. I feel a Dark Portal there", said Tyrael, looking to the east.

Tarasque: He laughed and lifted into the air. "Archangel, you will be mine", he roared. "Come to me Tyrael, come and fight", he bellowed, his challengfe flying all over the land. Tyrael looked at the great shape. "Run, NOW!" he shouted and charged into the underbrush.

"Then that is where we must go. If there is a Dark Portal there then we must destroy it. It is the source of all this evil in the land and if we can destroy it then we have a chance to slow down the demons that are coming into this world."

Lothak turned his horse away from the scene of his city and thought, I will be back and I will have the means to free you from this scourge.

Hesta looked back at Therian.
"Hold tight," She said and then put her heels to her mount and headed off behind the elf.

Tarasque: He landed back down and laughed. He then turned to the dead leaders and casted a spell. "Revive!" he shouted, and the corpses rose as they were before they died, except now under the Tarasques control. "Track them down", he shouted, feeding the monsters mental images of who he wanted dead. The corpses picked up weapons and mached east, sniffing for Tyrael's presence.

Tyrael: They leaped into a gorge and slowed down. "Stop, we must wait here", said Tyrael. He sat down and watched as the others stopped and dismounted. He bowed his head and began to pray.

As soon as they were in the trench Lothak felt the evil that was coming towards them and bowed his head, praying as well. He hoped that it would be enough, enough to stop the evil that was coming near them, evil that seemed to seep into his very being.

Tyrael finished praying and stood up. He pulled out his sword and shield and stood at the ready.

Corpses: They marched toward the energy, sniffing. They were about two miles away.

Lothak saw the corpses and pulled out his scimitars. He had to free these people from the evil that was now controlling them and if in order to free them he had to kill them then so be it for they were no longer the people that he knew and loved, they were now an abomination of being.
