Anyone watch it? I thought it was pretty good. They had to go and add the standard gun-slinging uber-babe for T&A eye candy given that two of the three Gunmen are so butt ugly, and it remains to be seen if she's Seven of Nine material, but on the whole I thought it was a nicely done pilot.

I saw it - I think it has potential. Had some good laughs and actually some decent accuracy regarding Real Time Intrusion detection - though they took it a bit further than current technology allows... but overall, not bad.

I think it can go either way. I've always liked the characters. The question is will they let the characters develop or let them become caricatures...

'Once you've had a taste of Frohike...'

That line had me laughing a little. Otherwise, it was just background to the magazine I was reading.

Sunday night on Fox. I don't know if that's permanent, though.

I've loved the X-Files ever since the first season, but I was a little disappointed and bored with The Lone Gunmen. The lone gunmen themselves have always been comic relief to the often dark X-Files, and I'm not sure if you can make a whole show about comic relief. I'm waiting for some guest appearances by the agents.

I really enjoyed it. Better then most of the X-Files this season.

April...

You're right, it's not permanent. *g* That was just its premiere (and CC's evil way of making X-philes wait! Grrr!!)

The next time it airs, it should be on a Friday at 9... or 8 for us central time peoples.

*grins* want something else? *whispers* I think I know how they're going to keep Mulder alive.. He died, remember? Hehehe.. *sing song* I don't think so.. I got my own ideas.

Wanna hear? or should I hush and keep the suspense?

Seven of Nine material ... lol ... now she's the bomb! ;)

We watched and were pleasantly surprised-however I have my doubts about the show staying with us for long. And the girl looks too much like Lara Croft-which pleased my hubby to no end. I think the bearded guy-dang what is his name-is cute.

I think the show does have staying power (but then I liked Strange Luck, so I am obviously NOT an authority).

For one thing, it's got a dry humor in the whole, bungling underdog thing.

One of the things that X Files lost with David's departure is Mulder's humor. A LOT of appeal for me in the show was the deadpan delivery of Mulder's sarcasm. With no tongue-in-cheek, the show loses a lot. At least for me. Some of my favorite episodes were the ones with a more humorous edge.

Yeah, okay, so they're all a little stereotypical of the guys who played D&D in high school (but I hung out with those guys sometimes and they were cool despite social images to the contrary) and the girl is a Lara Croft wanna-be, but as long as the stories stay interesting and the dialog gives us enough grins, I don't see why this won't make it.

Carter bombed with Millennium because it was so damn dreary. Cool stories, no humor. X Files is walking that way too. I'm hoping Lone Gunmen get more of a balance. Geez...I also hope he doesn't over compensate and make them totally stupid.

I liked enough of the first episode to give it a try. It's no West Wing, but they can't all be ;)

his name is Frohike <spelling - April?> or Frohickey?

ahhhh Earthgoddess dear ... he may be cute but he is geeky nonetheless ... a computer nerd if you will ... lol ;)

and ummmm yea the Lara Croft comparison to the uzi-toting female was right on ... b/f liked her too and commented that they will probably have more of those type of girls on the show ...

Yes, my dear Isabella. I do believe Frohike is the correct spelling. Too lazy to walk 3 feet and pick up my X-Files book to see. LOL

Actually, isn't Frohike the guy with the long, greasy DARK hair (as opposed to the guy with the long, greasy BLOND hair)? I could be completely confused, but I believe the bearded guy is Byers. Not that it's at all important. I still don't know what to think about the pilot. I've enjoyed this season's X-Files, though, despite Mulder's absence. I actually like Agent Doggit. It would be nice if all three of them stuck around.

Good gravy, my dear ... i must have fucked it up ... Nance ... quick girl ... out with the X Files dictionary ... OMG ... now we look like geeks ... ha ha ha ...

... and i almost forgot the most geekiest looking band ... Canada's own Barenaked Ladies ... lol ... now they're geeky, lol ... but i love 'em ...

all three of them, eh Gray? ... how kinky darling ;)

Okay, let's clear up the confusion.

Frohike: Dirty old man.
Langly: Scraggly blond hair.
Byers: Suit and tie.

Better?

And I actually like this season of the X-Files. I love the character of John Dogget. I think his introduction has breathed some new life into the series. I mean, we've known Mulder and Scully for 7 going on 8 years now, how much more developed can they get?

LOL Isabella! I ain't no geek, damnit!

Okay, I confess. I'm a geek. LOL :p
