The Living Works of Art Challenge

These are great, I especially love the second pose. If only it weren't so... shady.

Thanks Kimleigh. Honest I could see everything just fine when I was taking the picture. ;) :D

These are both really good tnman! Yowza! They both show off those great legs you have going on there!!

You and Hornblende need to do a paired picture with your legs, you both have great legs! :)

Well thank you Tali, your one to talk about great legs because yours are gorgeous.

Oh please? Will you? *puppy eyes*

Yeah, you are pretty good with the puppy eyes at that...:)

I initially looked at the current LWoA Challenge presented by JRP and wondered how much artistic license Michelangelo took with human anatomy. Then I tried some problem solving via a few feasibility attempts. In the end and with the absence of a garden bench or divan I tried variations of chairs. I’m attaching two different representative attempts while also managing not to fall off the chairs. LOL.

I think you did a great job.
Not falling off the chair was just a bonus.
Doing these challenges makes you realise what suffering for your art truly means.😄

So we had some fun and games trying to take this picture. JRP, please forgive my stealing your "hosepipe" idea! Everyone else, please ignore any lack of similarity with the original statue - we had to grab the quickest of opportunities to take this when the owner of the villa wasn't looking. ;)
Outside naked (like Kim said) Awesome! Tan lines, haha cute! Very nicely done.

I think they both turned out great!! I'm not sure which I like better. They both turned out so good.

Thank you Icy, your right not falling off of the chair was a bonus.

Thank you Sassy, you've been a big help and I appreciate it.

Oh, those legs! Very nice tnman & Hornblende - nice tan too!!

Thank you Shadow, I don't know about this legs stuff but I'm glad you liked the view. ;)

I'm all for taking as much artistic license as you want. This pose is a tough one, and you sit for it comfortably and artfully.

I like both poses. If you fell off the chair, I'd probably like that pic too, but these are more artful.

Well I can say that I've still got a tender groin muscle and no...don't ask...LOL

Thank You Mrs. G I appreciate it...although I don't know whether a falling off the chair pic would have been a blur or simply captured me face planted with my ass in the wind. ;)

How very daring of you. Great shot and quite a scenic location.

It looks like you resolved the issues quite well.

Terrific photo JR glad you gave up on the hand and armless assistants in the shot :D

Yes, well, I will do a lot for my art, but there are limits. Thank you.

Here is my "Ignudi in an Office Chair." Perhaps not my best work, but it will have to do. Since I took this picture, I had an EKG done and they shaved spots on my chest for the sensors. It looks a little funny, so I don't think I'll be posting any pics for a while. Plus, I have surgery on Monday. Nothing major, but I imagine I will need some recovery time.

I hope the surgery goes well, JRP, and wish you a speedy recovery.

Oh, and a great pic! :D

Best of luck on the surgery and here's hoping the recovery will be an easy one. That's a very good rendition of the pose.

Ooo, love it JR!! As long as you're okay and it's nothing major, I won't worry....too much.:)

Great pose, but greater if you get through the surgery well and return to "work" in your office chair--and have the hair grow back too.

Don't know why you need surgery. You look so good here. Get well and keep the gallery open.

Just a minor issue that needs repair to keep it from becoming a major issue. The show must go on.;)

I will add my good wishes to those of all these kind folks -- may your surgery be easy and your recovery swift. Sending best karma for you, JRP.:kiss:

These are very good, Mr TN, the shadows hide more than they show, but in a very tantalising way. You look very confident in this pose, despite possibly being just about to fall off the chair, you say. An excellent tease, I want to sneak my hand into the shadows, feel the weight in my hand.

That's lovely too, JRP. Very relaxed. Very expectant. As if you are commanding from your seated position. I wonder what you are commanding me to do...

I hope the surgery goes well. How dare they shave your lovely chest.

Thank you Numi for the wonderful comment and complement, as for the hmm equipment inspection I’m certain that would provoke a response. ;)

After much delay, here are my ignudi poses. The album begins with the suggested Jeremiah and adds, as a bonus, the other pose from the "First Day of Creation" group on the ceiling, the Libyan Sybil (at least according to Wikipedia). I try to give the two poses a sunny, Mediterranian cast, befitting the Roman location. In looking at my renderings, though, I note that the originals show not only more muscular bodies, but much more relaxed poses. Of course, the reason, I realized, is that a contemporary model, unlike Michelangelo's models, would have to remain tensely on alert while nude in the chapel because a priest might start chasing him throughout the choir, nave, sacristy--wherever--for other than artistic or doctrinal reasons.

Oh yes, these I like, Mr G. Very Med. Very nicely posed. Do I have to take the priestly collar in order to be able to chase you, though, or can I just do it anyway?
