Cable internet vs dial up..

I remember working on that. We were starting to see experimental digital photos starting to show up and sitting in a conference room thinking about all the engineering ramifications to enable rapid video. It required literally billions of dollars of investment all over the world. It required increasing bandwidth technology. Just thinking about the cable-laying across oceans was enough to make one's head explode. For several years boats were traveling back and forth continually laying new cables. We were also wrestling with security which still hasn't been fully satisfied.

Cheyenne made her bi-annual appearance earlier today. I think with the others dropping in over holiday weekends it's probably about being off from work and down time between festivities, or down time while traveling. For example- being stuck in an airport waiting for a flight.
