People that get the most pissy about being judged often but not always are the harshes judges themselves, either of themselves or of others.
It's funny but it usually works out that way.

As a race we are always comparing, contrasting and quantifying everything we and others do, have and are. More basically we judge everything from whether a pie tastes good or a celebrity looks hot. Most people tend to simply agree with the masses on what they should like or not like, what they should and should not find valid, based soley on societal popularity. We need that to keep cohesion within the society but the repercussions are seemingly meaningless spats among individuals. Humans are social creatures, we need social belonging, its programmed into our thinking patterns, with that comes seeking approval. It sucks but its true. You just have to figure out who's approval in your social circle you actually give any credence to and ignore the abundant miscellaneous bullshit that really has no effect on you as a person.

More succinctly: if everyone truly decided they didn't care to be judged and stopped judging others we would be a far more peaceful society right up to the point the whole damned thing fell apart.

Anyway, that's not how I operate. I do not care how I project myself. I let the reality of it do the projecting. I am a very hard person to be around sometimes. Hell, most the times. I'm very blunt and very forward and these things, when I feel negatively about something or someone, can make me a very ugly person.

It inhibits me in many ways. That's a consequence I've accepted. That's the cost of feeling good about the fact that nomatter who someone is to me, stranger or otherwise, they've a chance to know me for the way I think and feel from the start and make an honest decision about me then.

It's allowed me to make some really tremendous friends.

I've described my disabilities to a lot of people. Years ago I stopped. I talk about it in general terms 95% of the time now because most people, frankly, dont care.

But I will say this. I finally have a blind person to say this too.

My favorite way of putting it to people is like this:

"Asking me to do what I know is beyond my scope of capabilities is like telling a blind man that he should just look at things in a better light."
