An arena thread in the lounge?

Hmm...not sure how I feel about that.

It can help teach SRPers how to write action and badassery...but...beyond the value of having a tutorial for writing action...I detest arena threads...the pointless back and forth with no real goal to the chaotic melee...a battle scene without goals or stakes involved without dramatic momentum pushing it is just pointless violence...plus arena threads don't teach the two absolute most critical aspect of writing fights and battle scenes...the pacing is what makes it interesting and most important of all is that the good guy always wins (except when he's not supposed to yet).
if you're talking about the disposeable heroes thread... I was actually taken by the idea, and that was the first piece of writing I have done outside of an srp in a long long time. it is also the first time a scene came to me and I just had to write it in a long time, so to me the thread has already more than proved its value... to me at least.

Blade introduced me to another writing site some time back. I started to get involved in an Arena thread. It was an interesting concept. I would have stayed with it but the RW gripped me by the throat and I had to bow out.

If anything, I can see it helping with writing skills for combat. Those can be tricky unless you're use to doing them. The only thing I don't care for with this one, is the pre-determination that you die. That strikes me as god-moding. Yes, people die in combat but you should make the call for your character, not someone else. At least, not without pre-discussion/arrangement by both parties.

yes, and yet on the other hand, it can teach you how to write a character, get attached to that character in the moment, and yet you know you can't keep him, so you learn how to make the reader love that character with just one post, you don't have 800 posts to make us feel his pain, his plight, to suffer with him, to celebrate with him. all you have is your 500-1,000 words to make us feel the character. that was part of the challenge for me.

Oh sorry, sorry... Let me try again:

I hope there isn't more than one of you because you are such a bad ass bitch your nastiness would cause us all to tremble in fear everytime we sign into lit.

Is that better? ...but I still think you are a bowl of sweetness.

*Huffs up all big and scary.* Yeah! That's better. *Glares threateningly at everyone, not really meeting anyone's eyes.* And don't anyone forget it!

We'll keep that last bit between us on the down low. ;)

LT: I am tired of switching gears...either give me light and happiness or darkness and acceptance. Either will do really.

This may be a weird request, given the fact that I do not normally listen to Dub... but, does anyone know any good Dubstep bands?

I need to find some good Dubstep....

If you don't like Skrillex, you could check out Krewella, DeadMau5, BassNectar, Blackmill...um...oh, and Nero.

LT: I love coming home from work and finding posts. Good stress relief. Thank you to both my generous contributors. :D

Okay...

I am at work.

I have two posts due.

I have a piece floating through my brain for a solo.

I need to link the FD to the intro piece I stashed in the cavern.

Gods, am I bored.

Overnights are excellent for getting my words in order.

Lit decided to go crazy and not let me into my account. Which makes no sense what so ever.

So, even though the discussion of how having multiple accounts isn't cool or whatever happened earlier, I had to make a new one until it decided to let me into my old one. And I really don't understand why it's not letting me in.

lol, so who are you?

roflmao about the lunch... poor kittens

My dog is pretty good about not eating my cats. Bunnies on the other hand.... well, he likes bunnies.

But, I meant more about how happy my dog is going to be about having to share the bed again and having little claws climbing on him.

Yeah... that'll pretty much be them in about a week. I have no idea how big the kittens but from what I'm told they are pretty small so meeting the big dog should be interesting! But, my dog is a sweetheart (sometimes) so I feel they'll get along fine.

Except the bed part, he hates sharing the bed. Took my other cat a full year to actually be able to sneak into bed.

 I have to think of names!!
