I just got back from the advanced showing, and it was GREAT!!!!!!!! Not Best Picture material, but, still. It was like "Raider's Of The Lost Ark" with kids. And the Quiddich scene, AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering how the magic part came across on screen. Did it look too fake? How much of the book was shown?

It stayed VERY true to the book. All the magic stuff with the moving pictures, ALL of it's there. It didn't look silly at all. The effects were AMAZING!!!!!!

Oh thats great,I plan on going tomorrow to see it. I was worried about it not staying true to the book.

If you go, I recommend a theater with DTS sound. That Quiddish scene I mentioned, WHEW!!!!!!

Now thats a tease. What is it about the Quidditch scene that you really liked, without giving it all away?

Have you seen "The Phantom Menace." Think the Podracer scene. Adreneline. Not as exiting as the Podrace, but, pretty cool.

Nasty

You lucky little bastard. :p

I'm planning to go see it sometime this weekend. Most likely tomorrow when I've a chance.

5 may a bit too young. There's a few scene's with Voldermort that are a bit scary.

LOL. I could see where you'd have nightmares. That scene were he changes into a wolf is scary.

Countdown... 2 1/2 hours.

I can't talk anyone into going with me, so I'll be the one in the back row alone, crunching buttered popcorn.

So, how was it? I'm taking my nieces to see it, but not until at least next weekend when it isn't standing room only!

Great effects, good casting(Alan Rickman was an excellent choice for Prof Snape), amazing set design...still, I was a little bored. I thought it dragged in places.

nasty's right about the Quidditch game, though.

I loved it! But, and I *always* say this, it wasn't as good as the book.

Call me freaky, but now I have a major crush on the actor who plays Hagrid. Something about a big man... hmm...

Y' Mean Robbie Coltrane?

Harry Potter

Loved the film, it was fantastic :)

I can't blimmin wait until the next book *and* film (I'm like an addict !!)

Robbie Cotrane the big man himself, and he's a really funny stand up/character actor and his part in the TV series "Cracker" was out of this world......shame they felt they needed to use someone else for the US version ........which then bombed.
