The king’s Cock (fantasy story)

Odd little idea I had based on a couple of threads I’ve pitched before where the protagonist isn’t the chosen one but rather the chosen one’s father and this story is about a man who will be the father of the heir to the throne.

In a fantastical kingdom, there is a tradition where the king May select another man, or individual with a functioning set of balls and and a dick, to impregnate his queen and harem to produce an heir. The reason for this was a few fold: in a realm of magic, infertility spells are fairly common so the kings often find themselves either impotent or shooting blanks

2. To deligetimize biological heirs who would lead the kingdom to ruin. Hey everyone’s fighting for the throne and even your own kids might stab you in the back.

3. To keep power in the family. Most marriages would be with foreign powers meaning they would suddenly enter the line of succession as well. Instead a king or queen could marry a relative and the king’s Cock would do the deed (of course the two of them could be fucking on the side without anyone knowing)

4. To keep the common folk amused, subservient. The king’s Cock could be chosen from anywhere so anyone could get the role. The common folk like to imagine they could be picked so they keep following lalong.

So as for the story, I had a few ideas:

1. A spiteful king, angry and bitter at his treasonous family, names a nonhuman (goblin, orc, troll, etc.) a few months before he passes. Now the confused creature has royalty tossing themselves and the female members of their families into his bed in hopes of producing the first heir.

2. The king’s Cock normally gets to enjoy anonymity but their identity is revealed while on a journey. Now they must carefully make their way back while everyone is hunting them looking to bed them.

3. A man is delighted to be named to the position only to discover after the first successful pregnancy that the royal family plans on killing him after the birth so no more heirs can be born. Does he try to flee or die s he try to get revenge by using his position to make as many heirs as he can before he dies?

Maybe somewhat similar but not the exact same as OPs post. I am given to understand by unreliable others (aka professors of history) that in bad-ass city states of the ancient near east like Sparta, successful warriors regularly took male lovers. Thier wives ran thier households and provided offspring... But in the latter case it was not a given that the warrior would personally impregnate his wife.

Warriors who gained fame and could afford an estate were often far older than thier (trophy) wives. Often the head of a household would choose the strongest, most verile young man available to impregnate his wife. The husband would have all the rights in regards to his wives children.

Said system lasting generations until Alexander of Macedonia subjugated Sparta.

Call Alex a 'Nancy boy,' I dare you.

'Twas common in classical Rome for guys of wealth and power to adopt unrelated guys as their heirs. 'Twere noble and imperial mothers who had rival claimants killed so their own sons (by whatever biological fathers) had better chances of succession. Well, the survivors were mostly pretty deadly, too. Of early emperors, Claudius was the queer one because not hot for boys. A Scandalous History of the Roman Emperors is your bible here. Change the names and you have a story or ten.
