Mar 27, 2011 - Geraldine Ferraro, 75, the first woman to run for vice president, died Saturday at Massachusetts .

She was the first female vice presidential nominee, running with Walter Mondale.

Then, again, today we have President Obama and his delightful family.

Hillary, you are our strong seasoned veteran. I wish that you could have sponsored a young woman with new fire.

But, the Wingnuts have overrun the field. Nothing much can grow with so much poison.

Why is it that Trump has a reputation for winning when most of what get proven in court is that he loses bigly on everything?

How Is Donald Trump Poor Today?

Trump Tower is going bankrupt in Toronto, after cheating lots of nice people out of their condo investments, and Donald Trump makes like $10 a year off any of his properties that aren’t actually losing $2.4 million.

Let’s have a laugh!

Trump first got involved in the [Toronto] project 15 years ago, when he held a press conference with Toronto’s mayor to announce his plan to build a new Ritz Carlton downtown. That plan fell apart when it came out that his development partner was a fugitive who had been convicted of bankruptcy fraud and embezzlement in the U.S.

Trump in bed with embezzling fraudster fugitives? THAT can’t be right! Is there more?

So that was gross! Now what have you got for us, New York Times?

On the financial disclosure forms that Donald J. Trump has pointed to as proof of his tremendous success, no venture looks more gold-plated than his golf resort in Doral, Fla., where he reported revenues of $50 million in 2014. That figure accounted for the biggest share of what he described as his income for the year.

But this summer, a considerably different picture emerged in an austere government hearing room in Miami, where Mr. Trump’s company was challenging the resort’s property tax bill.

Mr. Trump’s lawyer handed the magistrate an income and expense statement showing that the gross revenue had indeed been $50 million. But after paying operating costs, the resort had actually lost $2.4 million.

Oh you old so-and-so! You are so bad at everything!

No wonder he pays no taxes!

Donald or Hillary? Clinton or Trump?
While the media proclaims the 'horse race', the real situation is seldom mentioned.

Forget the Trump-Clinton Charade: It’s Time to Wake Up America!

The truth is we are fucked, bigly!

Who will be the winners and the losers in the coming U.S. presidential election? Trump or Clinton, Clinton or Trump? The mainstream media is consumed with personality politics. Who could hold their nerve in a time of crisis? Whose integrity is purer (or less damaged)? If you were forced to choose, who would you trust your house keys with? It’s entertainment for the masses.

There will only be one group of winners: the interlocking oligarchy of financial, oil, military, agribusiness and pharmaceuticals interests than run the U.S. Whether it’s Trump or Clinton, policy nuances aside, Washington’s empire will stumble on. And it will do so not because of its inherent dynamism but because of its lies, manipulations, militarism and ability to crush any tendencies that exist towards a multi-polar world.

The U.S. as a nation is bankrupt. It was in dire straits in the 1960s as a result of the Vietnam war and the emergence of economic rivals, such as France and Germany. Shifting off the gold standard and moving towards petrodollar recycling and treasury bond imperialism allowed the empire to remain on course and the dollar to remain as the world’s reserve currency. Oil, not gold, became the mainstay of the empire. As long as the (oil-backed) dollar remains the global currency, the U.S. can continue to secure a free lunch courtesy of the rest of the world.

Today, more than 60 per cent of all foreign currency reserves in the world are in U.S. dollars, and the U.S. will attempt to prevent countries moving off the dollar by any means possible, not least military.

Under Saddam, Iraq was not using the dollar as the base currency for oil transactions, neither is Iran. Libya’s Muammar Gadhaffi was talking about using a gold-backed dinar as the reserve currency for parts of Africa. U.S.-backed destabilisation and war followed. In 2000, Iraq converted all its oil transactions to euros. When U.S. invaded Iraq in 2003, it returned oil sales from the euro to the dollar. Little surprise then that we have over the years seen on on-going saga by the U.S. to remove the Iranian regime via sanctions, destabilization, intimidation or the threat of all-out war.

The Dark Lords own us all. They will never let us do what is necessary to purge our system of the Corporatist tumor that is eating our county.

Voters are only given choices that don't matter because the majority of the electorate is either too stupid or too lazy to become educated and actively engaged in the political process.
Which is just how the Founding Fathers designed the political system.

Sure, the common citizenry could force the system to become less of a plutarchy, disenfranchise the "corporate" citizen and disempower the 1%, but, you know, that would mean less time and energy obsessing about sports, celebrities, and the latest outrage on social media.

Man, either way the votes go, it's going to be an ugly Wednesday when people start pulling their heads out the donkey's ass.

18% in their lattee ugly.

“… the very principle of constitutional government requires it to be assumed, that political power will be abused to promote the particular purposes of the holder; not because it always is so, but because such is the natural tendency of things….”

Twenty Years of Dictatorial Democracy

The presidential campaign has mortified millions of Americans in part because the presidency has become far more dangerous in recent times. Since 9/11, we have lived in a perpetual emergency which supposedly justifies trampling the law and Constitution. And the illegalities will not end after Tuesday’s vote count. Both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have signaled that they will perpetuate power grabs in the next four years.

For generations, politicians have touted voting as a magical process which almost automatically protects the rights of everyone within a 50 mile radius of the polling booth. But the ballots Americans have cast in presidential elections since 2000 did nothing to constrain the commander-in-chief.

Bush’s declaration in 2000 that America needed a more “humble” foreign policy did not deter him from vowing to “rid the world of evil” and launching the most catastrophic war in modern American history. Eight years later, Barack Obama campaigned as the candidate of peace and promised “a new birth of freedom.” But that did not stop him from bombing seven nations, claiming a right to assassinate American ciizens, and championing Orwellian total surveillance.

But there will be a new tomorrow, tomorrow. Looks like Hillary will be the new Dictator In Chief.

After a loss like last night's, which is both symbolic and material, grief is a natural psycho-emotional response

Erin Coulehan

"The same unease I feel when a man catcalls me on the street, instructs me to smile or doesn’t take “no” for an answer. The difference is now this fear is real and embodied in the new leader of the free world."
