Guess it depends on the life you have lived.

Many...enlightened people live much of their life in the past otherwise ancient texts would be irrelevant to them, and the wrongs that have been written would have been heeded...instead of repeated, they simply miss the point. They look to the future. though not in the true sense of it...it seems to me, only in terms of what form of resurrection they believe is held for them...

The quote...to me, says be reminiscent of the past though don't live in it...learn of and from it, look ahead...glance behind...approach the path ahead with the same fervor that formed the path left behind.

Woud anyone near death believe this?
