I remember a hilariously detailed description of the many ways the nomadic people of Mongolia prepare and present Yaks Milk.
The author took great pains to describe the texture and taste and smell of each one, From Milk to a tea like drink, to cheese and butter and a creamy dessert type thing.
In the end the auther was amazed at the differences that could be a achieved using The Yaks milk.
One thing was made abundantly clear however. The reoccuring commonality of each dish/drink was the ever present Yaks hair....... GAAAAK!!

Pony milk powder? Or actual milk!?
I remember the milk powder smelling awesome.
There was a dry feed stock/horse mix called 'Metavite'(i think)
That literally made my mouth water each time i fed it out. It was like the ultimate Muesli, and smelt amazing....... I may, or may not have tried it with milk one early winters morning.

Actual pony milk.....she is in milk.....I milked her.

G tries most of the things we feed. Sometimes I think I should buy him some 'steady up' supplement.

I am going to start exploring with supplements to help sweetitch. Brewers yeast seems very popular and lots of people feel the feed balanced I use aggravates sweetitch so I need to consider another balancer too. And bulk buying antihistamines.....I should talk to Noor about that, I bet she has a good source. Hopefully the pony and I can take the same sort.

Gets a bit 'Girthy' when fresh does he?

Yeah, we used to use Needsfoot oil i think.
And supona for fly strike.

And olive/canola oil if memory serves me well.
But defo supona or nutridol/metridol sprays/drenches/back rubbers to prevent.

Pretty sure the itch is related to Fly/midge/mozzie bite.
We used spray and/or drench our, Dogs,horses and cattle against it.
Horses showed the signs way worse than the feral cattle. But both definatley
Suffered it.
I remember Hosing the horses, treating the areas with the oils then spraying them with drench.

Are they white or black hoofed?
Laminitis... Gaaak. Nothing worse than trying to save from quartering and scraping and packing frog.. Only treated that in 2 poor souls.


You cant beat a good goat with any sheep. Goats are smart(super smart)
Birth easy and are hardy as(alpine breeds). Good meat also, if that time comes:
