Like so many of the other things technology/lifestyle is having an impact i guess.
It is sad in a way..
Even more reason for you to out there driving the team & buggy and being a roll model for the local whipper snappers! :)

I'd teach you some side ways and backwards and on the spot if I still had a school
Master :( we could play withwhat you h the ponies in hand though. I'm going to teach them inhand stuff. Not airs, because I think Luna would enjoy too much 😂. But stuff that I think is good pony yoga. I'll be starting with Rosalie when it's cooler. In hand stuff is fun. She is so cute and sweet I am quite tempted to teach her some circus tricks too. We'll see.

And you could teach ave workeme the starting in harness and pulling :). It seems such a radical move to me. Long reining is great, but asking them to pull something and not freak out 😱
Edit; you already have the skills too do what we talked abOut btw , if you want me toe recommend I some reading material for you to take it to a horse yourself yell. softly, softly working applying to how it Would help In how you have worked it makes sense.
your an
E.g.; a turn on the forehand is merely gate opening. You got changes! Pirouettes are fast direction changes. Why bother doing them well? To keep your animal smound and working and injury free. Descents des mains let's you get on with stuff. It's all pretty, but more importantly it's all practical.

I want an Aussie stock saddle. And a horse now :)

If your long reining, that Perfect progression to drawing;)
I'm sure you'll get them there if you want to.
After the flying lead changes(and yup- gate opening crossovers)
I remember spending ages practicing sliding stops and rollback turns.
The american futurity riders have them down pat! (And deep sand areas;) )
It made the stock work Waaaaay more efficient and safer.
These days my 'horse' has 2cylinders, a choke a throttle and exhausts. :)

I havnt done much long reining, mainly long lead lunge. Although i stopped
Using lead/rope to lunge after doing some Monty Roberts reading.
You may have already seen this no doubt Elle, But it changed the way i worked with ANY horse. Check out Monty Roberts: 'Join up Technique'. Theres bound to be a vid on Uboob of it in action.
I was initially doubtful, but it does really work.(whether its a young green colt or a 20yo horse thats new to you):)
I was taught pretty rough 'breaking' and this offered me a much more Bonding 'Start' to every relationship and each day when trying to catch a ratbag from the mob.

You gotta love a little personality.:)

I agree regarding the 'cultism'.. Its mental.
Buy this, buy that, do this, do that, look like this, go here, keep up! $'s $'s $'s
I see it all the time here at the stock feed places(and used to see it at the events), people always wanting the 'Next great thing'. The commercialization of tradition and hardwork to make a buck.

Re Bicycle:
What you need is a really soft grassy paddock/field, a skid lid and some big bubble wrap and tape. :)
Oh, and someone on a camera, im sure im not the only person thatd like to see that!:D

I bought heelies for myself, but I am only allowed to use them in a pathetic manner, being dragged around hanging on to him. This is not what I imagined. I imagined me flying down the streets in my :D gold winged shoes with flashing lights:D. It's just as well I can laugh at myself.

Im afraid i dont have your restraint.
I would be holding onto passing cars, buses, trucks etc searching for hills and smooth paths constantly. Lol

Picture: Pony, Longreins,rollerskates,Elle......... Just saying;)

My thumbs don't make sexting very easy.

Might be time to start pecking at that little keyboard.
