too hot or too cold, and an aching shoulder, noisy wildlife and then the pup standing up on the porch swing making noises through the window netting for attention

up, fed him, let out the chooks, made coffee, returned to bed, drank coffee, tried to get back to sleep and then a poem decides it just HAS to be written. no pen on the pad next to the bed, so i had to get up to find one, returned to bed, wrote it, tried to go back to sleep - but noooooooooooooooo, the last line was bothering me. dammit, had to get up. i'm tired!
