dunno, maybe the same reason a lot say 'unalienable' instead of 'inalienable' when it comes to their rightsWhy do Americans say something happened "on accident" instead of "by accident" like civilised people?
one that truly bugs the shit out of me is heard so often in adverts: instead of saying 'twice as many/often/effective/likely' etc..., it's this babyfied 'two times as' makes me want to bite wood
and then again the use of 'potty' like being stuck in some never-ending childhood. it's odd to british ears, for sure
