ya'll its not funny to be pushed around by the wind.

But sometimes it is.

I went for a ski at Glen Alps (above town) a couple years ago into a strong steady headwind. The going was slow down the hill to the beginning of the grade, slower clawing my way up the valley and darn near stopped on the steep parts. When I finally got to the top of the turn around loop, I was beat. Then, with the wind on my back, it was a dream skiing back to the car. I don't think I'd ever gone as fast for so long on xc skis before.

I know the feeling.

I recall being 14, weighing all of 85 pounds, when the 70 mph wind gusts atop New Hampshire's Mt. Washington were not even a little bit fun.



 
absolutely chucking it down outside - i should have got the washing in. oh well.
