My friend's cancer came back and it's looking really grim. Worse part is I can't help him in any way. Short of waving a magical wand and it goes *poof*, nothing I can do.

Cancer is a motherfucking bitch and she is definitely taking names.......and lives.

All you can do is be there for him. That what friends do.

I was hoping the phone call last night would help but it didn't. He wants his family.....not me.
I feel that any good comfort you find in really hard times is a good thing. Doesn't matter what it is. I thought knowing that I care about him would help even a little.
The phone call had me feeling why did I bother calling??? I'm going to chalk it up to him being really depressed as to why he sounded so bad.
