Dating catfishing messages - that seemed logical to me. "Hey babe, I'm from your town (your IP showed up)."

But that AI algorithms have evolved to the point that they're able to carry a political conversation? Mindblowing.

It might well be that most porn posters on this site are real people, but that 80% of the posts are automated too. They're too generic and C&P-ed with no comment.

I don't know about this particular case, but I imagine that governments are taking advantage of the bots situation, to get rid of undesirables and orient discourse and information to their advantage.
