Turkey is ass!
Fix a prime rib instead. Keep the rest of the meal the same.
Look here, turkey is something I cook well. Let's not get crazy.

Plus, I like to stuff things. With stuffing.

I also like to stuff things. But not turkeys. I make my stuffing separate, you know, because salmonella.
I'm getting overheated and grumpy even thinking about it.
Crowds make me![]()
mom does prime rib for christmas. i've never done one myself. yorkshire puddings to boot. fuck me. gravy smeared over mashed potatoes.
that falafel wrap did not hit the spot.
Cook the turkey for the relatives, so they don't stay too long.
You mean ya can't just walk into your supermarket, go to the deli, grab a box with a turkey and all the fixings (that just need reheating which will feed 6 to 8 people) and checkout at the register for $44.95 ?
No. I will need to spend at least $150 to do it my way. I don't know of anywhere around here that I can go pick something up.![]()
You are a wise man.
Dressing, it's called dressing if it's on the side my Northern friends. Dressing.
I make a cornbread dressing that's so freaking good.

What did the Mayo say to the icebox?
Close the door, I am dressing.
Is that the distinction between dressing and stuffing? I never knew. Not that I'm going to change what I call it, mind you.
This seems like a coke/pop/soda dilemma?
Why did the tomato blush?
Because he saw the salad dressing.
Nyuk nyuk

That makes sense. And it sounds really cute.
I would love to try your recipe if you care to share.
Certainly!
It's just a mix of 3/4 of a pan of freshly made cornbread, two loaves of French bread, left out to stale the day before and cubed, sage, about a 1/2 cup of turkey drippings, 2 cups of chicken broth, a cup of cream, a whisked egg, celery and onions that have been quickly browned in a skillet, lots of pepper and a little salt (taste your drippings to see how much salt you'll need) and baked in a really large roasting pan. I dot the top of the dressing with cold butter before I bake it, tent it with foil for the first 50 minutes or so, then take it off to brown.
All of this is just handed down directions from my mom's family so please feel free to play with the measurements.
