cooking healthy stuff ain't so bad...
The lies we tell ourselves.

I keep overstuffing and breaking the pita.
One of the best quality and cheap falafel joints in town closed and got razed for developers to build more future expensive trust fundie hipster apartment hi-rises. I won't ever forgive progress for taking that choice away from me forever and replacing it with glass.
Then again, learning how to make them yourself is a good thing, even though the convenience of having pros do them is a part of the point of ordering them. I keep overstuffing and breaking the pita.
Do you know Taïm? I think it's on Waverly Pl, just off 7th Ave. Great, but a bit pricey compared to the trucks.
Ah, Taïm is around the corner from the Village Vanguard, right? Walked past many times but never been. Mamoun's was my very first falafel place since my late '80s days and I was doing the aforementioned lamented Bereket on Houston religiously as an after-hours bounce spot after bar hopping before (grrr) progress took it away. I will have to make a Taïm patronage now.
There was a place in Midtown on the West Side, in the Hell's Kitchen area, that did a primo falafel similar to the picture I linked...tasted awesome. I went only once in the late '90s when a friend dragged me there, but now that the area has drastically flipped I don't think they're around anymore either.
Alastair Cook should be pushed down the wicket in a wheelchair.
For a moment, I was so confused.
