I have a 27 ton Troybilt splitter. I also have a maul but I prefer the gas powered splitter for my workouts

Charles just came at me with a knife. An 8", sharp, scary looking knife. Little fucker.

Same as my favorite! An awesome axe.

It's going to get a workout, the next trip up to the cabin.

Sorry Thor but jackpine and spruce isn't a workout for a splitter...Harry's oak and hard maple is:(

it's a decent piece of kit, alright. the old one has a loose head and its blade is duller than mud. this one splits like a bitch - i feel like saying "i am groot!"

Be sure to tip your plane de-icer well.

More than the traditional 15 to 20% would be wise.

walked miles yesterday around the fields, woodland and pastures collecting stuff... time to go make the wreath

You're not as familiar with our woods as you think. There is no jackpine in the Susitna Valley. We do have a lot of birch though. And I've got a couple cord of birch rounds, 16 to 20 inches in diameter and 16 to 17 inches long to split up. You're welcome to pop up, split a pallet load or two and tell me how easy I have it.

I should have remembered birch.
Birch can be fun to split.
I had a 6lb maul and hitting green birch with it was a kick.
It would bounce back a few times and then you hear that sweet little crack and the block was in half

We got an electric one...works amazing..like really surprising

Gotta run the gas generator to power it at camp though:(

I had an electric one once but it was a built by am engineer who passed away and idkwhere he got half the stuff from.. I still have it but it’s not running

The basic hydraulic system was from a garbage compactor lol

Just sitting here waiting and it suuucks because I can't do anything until the guy I'm supposed to meet gets here but then I have a LOT of shit to do so like... he could totes just come the fuck on.

We need a small inexpensive generator so I can take the electric chainsaw to the woods. Honda made a nice one but I cant find it now

Ours is a cheapo like Harbour freight or something but it works great.

Omg I'm so sorry, that shit is the WORST.

Edit: To be fair, the electric ones might be easier. I have to use the gas ones. I've never used an electric one but it make sense that it would be lighter.

I'm so weak and frail and I hate doing things.
