I cant bend over yet.

But man do I remember being made to go out to the woods and pick the berries.

I never brought much back though.

Ouch. Feel better soon LTR. I Know that feeling. My friend has a blueberry farm. I should get over there. I think she said she has 3 different types. Yummy.

They are not, perhaps, the most practical, and they cost an awful lot to redo (every twenty years or so) but they are intensely lovely.

There's one by my sis in the burbs of Chicago. It's the only one I recall seeing in the states. Oh, I've seen them although I haven't been to England in a while.

I thought you will visit the Jersey Shore to please!

Sweeps, for you I would visit anywhere. I just came home from the beach in NYC. I certainly could have stopped by the Jersey Shore for a visit! I have all of my weekends free now, just let me know when. :)

In a not unrelated note:

Why pick them when you have children who can climb and shake the branches? That is what my Grandfather always said.

They jelly was worth it, I suppose.

He's only just learned to walk. He's rubbish at climbing, except sofas and knees and stairs.

Plus, these were hedge plums. No climbing required - barely even any stopping. Just put your hand in as you stroll. Free wild fruit is like a tiny taste of what Paradise must have been like.
