is three hours of sleep enough? laying awake in bed with eyes closed, trying to fall back asleep. it doesn't work. i try to be a solid 8 hour sleeper, but that too easily drifts into nine and ten and twelve. i feel crawling on my skin and my brain is awake with live wires. synapses firing overtime, and i think maybe she was right. i am the complicated one. that thought makes my head hurt. i am struck by an overwhelming awareness of humbleness and strength. a grace. and slaughter. a bloody massacre of the truth so simply held. and all the songs looked for notes too complicated to capture the picture.
