I like how our culture freaks the fuck out about ISIS slipping through our southern borders, but pays no fucking attention to the drug wars we've enabled down that way. It sends a message of: "Not only do we not give a shit about brown people, but we can't even be bothered to distinguish between the shades."

ha, don't kid yourself.
any involvement by the u.s. gov't, at even the most egregiously overestimated levels, amounts to half a percentage of the colossal volume of the central and south american narcotics economy.

its folly to try and spin the scintilla of impropriety into some sort of shameful level of responsibility.

its more accurate to say we've enabled the drug lords' power by supplying such an enormous sellers market for their product

how else do you fight the violence of a nation forgotten and rendered to absolute servitude? how do you honor them? how do you tell your children, these are your ancestors, and no one gave enough shits to remember their names?

for the last few hours, i have been searching the internet for the names of the thousands dead as a result of the drug war in mexico, and i cannot find them anywhere. they have been intentionally left out. how else do you describe it. fuck. central florida lists their dead by the day in the local newspaper.

The second time I watched it wasn't as bad. It was still horrible by comparison to the other actors' voices, and spectacularly terrible by comparison to stage performances. I like Crowe in the role, though; I can understand why they cast him based on his ability to play the character....but not so much when you think about the importance of singing talent in this musical.

Hathaway and Jackman - brilliant! Sasha Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter - perfect.

I Dreamed a Dream wrecked me.

I absolutely loved Sasha and Helena. They worked so well together.

New title. :) Well, I'm committed to the current title till Halloween, so after that.

Bigger.

Seriously.

You think? Even though the parenthetical aside was within a sentence? I need to check.

that one always hic's me up, but being a person who is fearful of the grammar nazis and in no way one of them, i believe it is correct.

given that, i plead artistic license.

has it changed anything? a temporary *shock* before people return to porn & chat. those who feel & think & care will do so without the image.

human nature is to enjoy the horror, ''this is terrible! something must be done!'' and then carry on as though nothing happened.

in a way it almost dehumanises them more... nobody shows crime scene images of rich, white folks. that would be disrespectful. but the news is full of cheap lives providing momentary cheap thrills.

I always think about it, too. I always opt for outside the parenthesis, but sometimes wonder if I'm wrong.

On Friday, I sent out an email with an apostrophe error to 694 recipients. I was so mad at myself.

Period inside only if an entire sentence is inside the parenthesis.

better left to wikipedia and google searches while your neighbor dies of heart conditions that could have been helped and family is separated from each other as a result of the violence. if you want change, you have to fight for it, because there will always be something more shocking on the news tomorrow.

the ladybug appeared on my keypad and told me to go to bed.

spirit bug?

i don't know, but her exit is across the screen and into the sky.

Bad girls with a good grasp of punctuation > Good girls with a good grasp of punctuation .

I have them all over. Fucking things.

Typos in grammar posts really are among my favorite things about the Internet. In this case it was obviously a typo, but so often they are not mistakes and they are comedic gems.

It's approaching midnight, about time for me to hear that it's past my bedtime...

ETA: "goggled"

Night goggles.

;)
