Mom's worried that with the stress I'm under, and not seeming to deal well with it, I'm going to tell my boss/job to fuck off before one of the 'dysfunctional' relationships.

She's probably right, but I'm not sure that I agree that it would be a bad thing.

It took me a long time to learn that mother doesn't always know best.

this is definitely true sometimes. I'm blessed to have a wonderful mother...but I had to lay into her for already getting on me about wedding logistics. It's going to be a couple years and I'm not done with school. This next year is going to be the most exhausting year I've ever had in my life. I'm not planning a wedding during it, and I'm certainly not going to get into just before my last set of finals ever. Luckily, as I said, she's a wonderful mother and I'm certain she won't approach the subject again for a while.

I don't take her word as gospel, but I do consider it.

I know she's just worried about me. She left her job of 20 years for a company that was just starting and 3 years later it's still in the "starting" stage. That's left her with 0 income for the past two years. She doesn't want me to go through that.

But I'm still fully able to work fast food and retail, where she isn't physically able to do it. Like I said elsewhere, it might mean some tight times ahead, but I'd be less stressed.

I need some new friends.

Also, I should stop wasting time and get a short project done. Instead, I'd rather sleep or play around here.

Woohoo! A sale! :nana:

only $30 but that pays for all the advertizing I've done this month. Another toddler thing and I"ll be out of the red for the month.

Why does produce have to be so EXPENSIVE? I just polished off a whole container of grape tomatoes...in 15 min. flat. And it was $2.50. The only cheap snacks at that consumption rate are unhealthy snacks or unpalatable.

Curse you, finals. CURSE YOU.

(PS. yes, I know why produce has to be so expensive. Rhetorical question.)

Government conspiracy

I started a new, very part time job tonight.
All I did was shuffle papers and scan documents, and it was awesome.
She appreciated my efforts, she appreciated having someone to work with.
Don't tell her but I would do it for free, because I get this feeling that I am going to learn a lot from her.

I bought a 198 yen (~$2.44) thing of strawberries the other day...ate that right up. Sigh.

One of my go-to snacks is frozen blueberries. I buy a huge bag for about $4 and whenever I get the craving to munch I pour a small bowl. The freezing really makes them extra sweet and I feel as if I'm eating something decadent. Also, they last me a couple of weeks.

If you like blueberries it's a reasonably priced snack food. Good luck with finals!

I have a bunch of grapes I froze for that purpose, actually :) More labor at home than the blueberries, but cheaper! (for some reason, frozen fruit is NOT cheap here...) The problem is that I have very cold-sensitive teeth so I've found that it's not really helpful :( I'll probably wait until I finish out most my other snacks before pulling them out. I do have a box of the Kashi 7 grain puffed cereal and it's fantastic for snacking on! I'm just trying to moderate how much of it I'm snacking on since those boxes aren't big and they're $$ :(

I need to go to my local organic store. They have an extensive bulk section and I bet they have cheaper buffed cereal I can munch.

I'm sure you know this already but air popped pop corn or nuts are good alternatives. I know that the "better" the nuts are for you the more expensive they are but if a cheap can of peanuts keeps the doritos from jumping off the shelf and attacking you then its all for the better.

There is a great cookbook called "good food, great medicine" and they have a recipe for brown rice crisps. I haven't tried them so I can't vouch for them and I know you don't have time to cook right now anyway; but, I would be happy to post the recipe if anyone wants it.

Oh yes I'm aware!! Nuts have a lot of calories, though (albeit, healthy ones) and I still eat enough popcorn that it's a lot of calories. I figured with puffed wheat/etc..., I'd be getting a bit more fiber, a little less calorie, and since they're smaller a bit more use out of it. I just like to try new ideas out to see how they work :) That and we're out of popcorn kernels...
