The I'm Graduating Thread

...

I'm a college graduate! :D

... I'm super proud of myself.

Since life has a way of hitting you in the head when you least expect it, my graduation celebration is going to be delayed (or, more likely, cancelled). So, I'm hoping you will celebrate with me here. I'm more than happy to get lots of praise and congratulations. :D

Just don't ask me what I'm going to do now because I don't know!

Congratulations! You have every right to be proud of what you have done. We never realize how much we are capable of until we look back. You are entitled to take some time to pause, look back and enjoy what you have accomplished.

Too bad you aren't celebrating but if you want to get together for a drink to cheer it, then let me know! I'll be happy to help you celebrate.:rose:

First congratulations on realising at least some of your potential - that's always laudable.

As far as what's next goes, there are three possibilities:

1. Piss away your achievement - I don't think you will! :)

2. Capitalise on it - your new qualification opens new doors.

3. Build on it. Study more and get an even higher qualification - or just another one: polymaths who are qualified in more than just one discipline can be even more valuable than specialists in a single area.

Personal advice: keep your options open as long as you can! Trying to go further doesn't negate what you've already achieved. Personal constraints may mean that you have to cash in on what you've done so far. That doesn't mean you have to give up all future ambition to qualify higher or wider. Good employers will support your ambition to gain even more knowledge. Look for a good employer!

Go for it kid! You haven't done yet! Both experience and more knowledge can pay off.

Congratulations Sophia!

You have overcome much and it is a really big accomplishment. I hope you find an extra twinkle in the eyes every time you look in the mirror. :D

O.K. - it's looking more and more like I'll be back in plenty of time Sunday's cookout!! Things here are going very well today and there's talk of transferring her to another floor as soon as tomorrow. I'm not silly enough to get my hopes up, based on the week we've had, but it is encouraging, nonetheless. Just think of it, Soph, this weekend we could be standing around the grill, drinking yummy things and burning the meat!!

YAY!

I know you well enough to know that you don't burn the meat. ;)

I'm not worried about my party at all; we just want you home!

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

Welcome to the club - we wives, mothers, etc. who study and graduate while doing everything else are a special breed.

I'm immensely proud of you, of your achievement, of the effort you have put into this. I wish, more than anything, that the wife and I could be there to celebrate with you. You'll have to make do with distant hugs and kisses.

Hope you have a blast at your real celebration.

Much love.

Congratulations.

I hope you post some pictures of the celebrations.

Og

Do they let you take pics in strip clubs? :D

Thanks again everyone. As I said, I'm very glad to be able to share my accomplishment with all of you.

And Mat- I wish you and Min could celebrate with us, too, but you're with us in spirit.

We're drinking and playing Scrabble.
It's phase one of the graduation festivities!

;)

One of my very best friends (and one of my very favorite people) made me a celebration Cinco de Mayo dinner tonight. We had strawberry margaritas, barbecue pork, homemade fruit salsa, black beans and so many other yummy things.
Then we had cake and the kids sang me a song L and I made up:

Happy graduation to you
you live in a zoo
this song has never been more true
happy graduation to you.

It was a nice family celebration. Next week: strippers.

.... Next week: strippers.
I clearly do not come here enuf ... totally missed this thread  (until now)

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!! & LONG DISTANCE HUGGS !!

I KNEW YOU WOULD MAKE IT WITH A's AND A+'s

WHOOP, whoop ..woo hoooo !!

Tomorrow is my official graduation, but because of the distance I won't be attending the ceremony. I'm a little sad about not crossing the stage, but still super excited.
A man I'm dating is taking me to dinner tomorrow night (I'm wearing a dress and knee boots and drop dead sexy undergarments!), Saturday night we're going to the strip club (woo hoo), and Sunday we're getting pedicures. All in all a nice celebratory weekend.

And next week- I face reality as a college graduate. :D
