The - I Voted - Thread

So, I know where I can vote, early and otherwise, but I just have to get transportation. Cool.

Texas makes it damned near impossible to vote absentee for both White OR Non-white unless you are over the age of 75, so it's early voting or stand in line for 5+ hours on election day.

Normally early voting would start on October 14th and run through November 3rd, but in 2020 too many egro-Nays voted early so the legislators in their infinite White patriarchal wisdom decided to lop ten days off of early voting. My regular election-day voting place is unavailable for early voting (understandable, it's an elementary school), but my usual early voting place, a nearby Muslim mosque, is "not available" this year. So I'll venture up into "Trump country" and vote early on October 21st.

Oh and I got a "push poll" on my cell phone last night that ended up being a thinly disguised advertisement for Eduardo Rafael "Ted" Cruz!
Yeah, I was disappointed at how difficult Texas makes things to vote, but that's typical enough, apparently. Make it easy to vote? Nah? We'd rather disenfranchise through obstruction and obstacles.

I hate mail in voting. I get why it's considered better so more people can do it. I'd be more inclined to support it if I believed people were taking advantage of it to actually do some research and read the voters pamphlets, but they aren't. I miss the fun of going to a polling place and going in the booth and wearing my sticker. Voting today should be a national holiday if you want to get higher turnouts and more secure and trusted results.

I will vote for Trump for a third time in a row. I always find some local position that is an unopposed race and I write him in, because he really should experience a real job and find out what politics really are and maybe even once have a chance to get the most votes.
