The "I don't want to talk about AI" thread, and the new topic is: I don't want to talk about AI

I had to check my history
The 1980s were defined by Google's AI as:
the escalating yet ultimately ending Cold War, conservative politics (like Reaganomics), the rise of personal computing and MTV, the devastating AIDS epidemic, and major cultural shifts marked by consumerism, blockbuster films, and pop icons like Michael Jackson. Key events included the Fall of the Berlin Wall, Chernobyl disaster, Challenger explosion, Tiananmen Square protests, Iran-Contra affair, and the beginnings of the internet

It was kinda crap, huh? And you assassinated John Lennon.
What else ... AIDS, Mount St Helens, Falklands War, MTV, CDs.
Wow

Only AI could conjure the phrase 'the escalating yet ultimately ending'
I'll apologise in advance that my generation brought AI to the world

Yes, it was crap. After all, there's no better context for two whole new genres being spawned from the 80s:
  • Blade Runner and Neuromancer gave us Cyberpunk.
  • Thief killed the pastiches of Noir that was Neo-noir, and updated Noir to the current events, giving us Neon-noir.
